glad that is finally all sorted out @CrabCake ... again I didn't mind at all following you back home... never leave a man behind!

That pesky heater hose doesn't look so pesky...
For sure...but it was 6 months ago when it was leaking! :deadhorse:

The EGR pipe assembly will be less pesky too when I get some keychains...gotta love MD Historic registration with no inspections or emissions testing... ;)

Also ordered 6 new flow matched injectors...not messing with that crusty one. I went with the ones from CruiserParts that are flow matched and updated 4 nozzle holes (with pigtails).

And some new knock sensor harness plugs...this one just kind of fell off....wire is pretty thin on these!

So we'll see you down south in April???
We’ll see…waiting for parts this week and heading to Bermuda on Monday-Friday, then reassembly begins after the 24th…

PSA: When the instructions say to use the screw in ground anchors....use the damned screw in ground anchors!

This thing rolled around my yard from about 100 feet away and landed on top of my Suburban.

I finally got around to fixing this situation. After all that only 1 missing screw and a 6 inch slit in the tarp. If anyone else gets the Harbor Freight shelter a 30mm socket fits the ground anchors perfectly.

Got in my new injectors, decided to go with the "upgraded" 4 hole bosch units that come with conversion pigtails from CruiserParts. I was torn to replace the original pigtail with OEM first, then do the conversion harness jumper. Decided to just install the new ones that match the injectors directly to avoid one more connection for each injector. Turns out that #6 was toast as I knew, as the clip was completely gone and totally corroded...but the other 5 wouldn't even hold to snap on either with heat fatigue. Glad to get all of these updated! Also replaced both knock sensor pigtails as one harness fell off upon removal, and the temp sensor plug retaining clip had failed too.

Also, time to address the spaghetti under the intake...all new hoses here. One note, the one single larger elbow hose under there going to the white T to the manifold was literally just lying on the T...had to have a vacuum leak there for sure! And yes, clean the intake plenums...this pic is pre-cleaning!

And it was nice to break out the OG Toyota fender cover...that thing has to be from the 80's at the latest as it was a relic from my dad's 3 bay service station back in the day. ;)

Damm @CrabCake that thing will be running like a TOP now!! better not have any issues with power loss at all.

Back from Bermuda...fantastic weather, frozen Dark & Stormy's served beachside on the private beach... 🌴 🌴

Failure on the intake studs! 3 size shanks, some with lock nuts, some without....I'd imagine that the ones with the longer center shank never had proper torque as the shoulder sits proud on both sides of the manifold! Personal failure, forgot to hit the buy button before I left for the studs and other parts......time to wait another week for these to show to get this thing back together!

Edit: after looking closer at this pic online, I see 4 different shank sizes...the ones with the longest center...the one closet to the nut, definitely longer than all of the others!

The bottom photo is better than the top. What a pain!

Recently finished removing and replacing the c-channels in the rear frame. I feel more confident about the rear frame integrity now.

Not shown is my trusty angle grinder, but these were the tools I used for the job. What an experience!

Getting the rear winch reinstalled is a fun game of floor jack Jenga.

You can see the difference between the old and new pieces of metal...I damn sure wouldn't be able to bend the new ones while removing them like I did the old rusty units! :)

And I finally picked up a legit battery charger to reinvigorate my batteries that sat all winter and got tired.

Nice work!! Like new

Wheels painted, mounted on the truck with 37s. Steering in double shear, moved the tie rod up above the axle centerline. Springs are too low to do true high steer. Needs brakes bled and lots of little adjustments to clear the bigger tires at full stuff. I love the gold wheels and black rings with the blue. :)
