Didn't get any 40 work done today, but my wife did help me to confirm that redline's weber-to-2F airbox adapter is in fact 4Runner crush-proof.

I've had a lot going on and my plate has been full of stuff needing my attention, so the land cruiser is having a long sit as i try to knock out a bunch of other projects.

Currently doing a frame swap on the camper hauler 7.3, going to an 06 f350 frame so i'll no longer have leaf spring front and i'll have bigger axles.

Cut a rotting deck and stairs off from my house, its rotting and was posing a danger of ripping the side of our house off. Have to redo seven support beams and a couple other bits. Going to build it a lot smaller than original and try to seal it from the elements unlike the previous owners.

I am collecting toyota parts as i find them though, got an 80 series free float for the rear, a 60 front housing, and two 60 front third members with 4.56 gears. One even has an lsd! The housing already has marlin gussets and ruffstuffs soa kit thats turned 10deg for caster, so it ready when ever i get the springs i want! Also found a cyber monday deal where 6 shooter knuckles were over $200 off so i ordered those! I didn't want to turn into one of those members that jumps in an out of being active or just up and vanishes in the wind. I plan on building the bj70, but i got other stuff i have to do first. I'm trying to take it out more, but the radiator has a leak and i need to pull it and fix it soon, also gotta adjust the valves in the 3b.

You've been busy for sure! Be careful with that Ford stuff, it's heavy as you know....I have a fake disk in my neck and a permanently numb right thumb and forearm thanks to my son's 99 250 super duty with the 7.3...we were doing the leaf packs up front to level it back out and yanking those axles and springs around herniated the disk in my neck.

And my same son is Jelly about the Land Cruiser fun, especially the big tire old school 40's, but he's always been a Ford fan and just picked up this beast....1 ton SAS, 460 motor, etc....built by an old Ford mechanic from all Ford part and actually quite well done and still rust free!

And how he had to trailer it home on stock size wheels & tires....the white 250 is what did my neck in... o_O

Eric Jr is looking proud!

That's a tall truck.

That's a tall truck.
Yes it is...does have a 3" body lift that I think he'll pull back off, but the springs are OEM Fords and not really that stiff amazingly enough....riding on 44's now, tires pretty crusty, but hold air. His first truck that he bought when he was 15 (still has but parting out) is a 93 Bronco...had it for 14 years now. Got the 4bbl carb rebuilt and needs new ignition stuff due to a weak spark, but a fun project for him no less...I did tech my boys well on mechanicals!

Tell him to stay off Tacoma World. It's a cesspool.

Disagree. Sign up and immediately create the following threads:

Which lift do I want?
Largest tire that will fit without cutting bodywork
Suggested oil change interval
Which tire should I get
And the chef's kiss: Which offroad gear will make my truck look special at the mall?

Sit back and watch the hilarity that is sure to follow.

On a good note. UPS is delivering my rebuilt steering box for the 40 next week.
It was sent off to west texas off road and was on it's way back when it was lost somewhere in Tennessee at a facility. ......5 weeks ago. I had basically given up on it and was about to pull the pin on the insurance process when I got a notice that they had located the item and it would be getting to me next week. On a coolER note west texas off road were decent about the entire thing and said they would reach out to their crowd to get a replacement power steering box and would discuss a rebuild and a price on it when/if they sourced one.
Hopefully I will be back on track for some tender TLC on the 40

Btw, auto or manual?
Sadly it's not a manual, hard to find especially considering the other criteria on the list.

You're not kidding on Tacoma World. That place is out of hand!

well let him get into it slowly... 35s and all are not needed right away!

This thread is just getting fired up

Guy watches YT video about PRE-FILTERING new engine oil and is now considering doing it on a Taco.
Sure, there are stupid threads on every car forum, but what makes TW so special, is how there is no beating-around-the-bush on calling them out as such and then having the shyte show commence immediately thereafter.

I've never owned a VW, but I've seen several references naming VWVortex as a good comp for TW.

No Taco here, but I have been needing some good entertainment so maybe I'll start lurking there every now and then!

Collecting parts...105 Steering Sector Shaft upgrade & Delta frame reinforcements. No problems at this point, but I can just see this one coming the harder I decide to wheel it. Might as well be pro-active and found a great deal on the steering kit at $599 w/free shipping on FleaBay. One left out of 10 kits from ASR if anyone is looking!

Dang, that is a good deal. I've been meaning to do this myself. What's the game plan for the gear box rebuild.

I think I'm going to give it a shot myself...did a 6 speed transmission swap on my Audi RS6, so this can't be that bad, right?

Here's a great thread on it...
