Anyone else play with these 12v diesel heaters? I got one today and fired it up. It actually heated up the shop ( 2 bay garage) pretty good on a 26 degree day.

So what's the deal with these things? Can you run them in a closed garage? I have a kerosene tube heater that I'm hesitant to run in my garage without the garage open 6 inches or so.

I just vented it under a cracked window to test it. The pipe got hot and other than right at start up there was no combustion smoke or smell.
They say don’t run it with the exhaust inside but the directions are some of the worst written Chinese translated instructions I have ever heard
I ended up watching a video on YouTube to see how to set it up and operate it in all the videos not one of them did not vent to the outside so I would say yes under all circumstances

I will add that it draws 10-12 amps for the first 6 minutes as the glow plug, pump and fan start up once it is running it draws 2 amps so it could run all night off a car battery. The heat temp at the exhaust is 145 degrees

Brand or source? Could be useful.

Kerosene heater should be no cause for alarm. I heated my house with one for years. To avoid the stink though, you must start and stop the heater outside. Don't bring it inside until you can see a fully going fire, and don't bring the heater back in after stopping it until it is cold. NEVER bang against it (accidentally or otherwise) while it's inside lit, as the fire safety spring will slam shut emitting a horrible stench.

Just be sure to keep it about 3' away from walls, basically anything, etc.

I bought a US made Holland combo pintle/2" ball hitch and a pair of Toyota pintle hitch eyelets. Fit perfectly, sits about an inch lower than the bumper. Now I just need to get my M416 done.

Positive endorsement of Viair. My 400-P model (24v) stopped working, wouldn’t get the tire over 20 psi. It’s a year out of warranty, but I sent it to them for repair anyway after talking/chatting to their rep and I got him to ballpark typical jobs, he said $60-150 was average. I sent it in and received an email (in a reasonable amount of time) stating it had suffered internal failure beyond repair, and they will send me a new one (whole kit, long hose, and new bag). Solid outcome! I did include a compelling note, so perhaps that influenced them.

If they would’ve told me “tough luck, a new one is $370” I would’ve been b***hing on here about how they suck. Instead, I get to say that Viair gave me some awesome customer service and I’m looking forward to airing up like a boss once again. 👍 big win for me 🤓💯

I finished welding a patch in my frame. The last pic I flipped the frame right side up. Almost ready to roll the axles back under and start building it back up.

Finally set up my 3d printer.

Found a file for the 1980's style climate control and fan knobs! Now I can just print new ones when I rip them off and lose them at night.

Pretty cool. Wish I had fired this up years ago.

I don’t think wheel bearings are supposed to come out like this!

Looks good, man.

No rubbing?
No rubbing and these will be good to go offroad flexin too. The 255 width tires on the 4R Off Road wheels are a safe combo without rubbing. Could have gone 255/80r17 but I went with these 255/75r17 C rated because I had a good experience with C rated K02s on my GX. And the 255/80r17 would have been an E rated tire.
