I have a digital control setup with wiring pig tails from a 2002 non-navi LX that I want to sell. Was going to install it but thinking of getting rid of the truck now. Looking to get $350 plus shipping for it. Send me a Private message if anyone is interested.

Interested in your digital control panel - your inbox is full. I am ready to purchase, send me a PM.

Thanks for all the previous ground work you guys have done...
Looking to do the swap on my '02
Just started searching for the 3 knob controller. I did see a new plastic surround on ebay and went ahead and grabbed it.
I was thinking I could use a new bezel and move over all the switches (in case I found a non matching one)
I am wondering if that was a mistake. (it was the last one and I got nervous it might be hard to find, so I bought it)

Can (and should) I use the new bezel surround and move the button and dials over? or is it one of those things that seems likely to break?

don’t laugh...

or could it be because I was in the passenger seat when testing..

beeping doesn’t happen when I’m in the drivers..

lol

looking further and testing. All wirescorrect per the updated layout.

I’m reducing it could be the soldered connections film being too thin and possibly contacting other wires.

I covered each connection with electrical tape and now it’s fine.

Hi, did the delete over the summer. Went really well, all the work guys have done documenting the process in this thread is invaluable.

I do have two questions now, I'll start by asking in this thread.

1) The only problem I have is that my truck seems to now only have max heat, and max cold. Everything to the right of the max cold setting gives me full heat, and of course max cold is AC (or just cold air if AC is off). Makes for a long road trip, lol. Anyone else run into this issue?

2) I want to sell the navigation system now... Guys that have done that, did you sell the whole block assembly with the amplifier and everything else, or break it down into the components for individual sale?

Thanks!

I sold my individual parts on eBay. Made some decent cash back.

What problems from the initial diagram prompted a revision to the pinouts?

seems like I got a couple of intermittent gremlins I’m trying to chase. (I.e. check engine reappearing act, non start at times, no illumination of bezels)

I've had a check engine speed sensor code since doing the nav delete, P0500 if I recall. Would be very interested to know if you have the same. It makes the cruise control not work. I have done some troubleshooting but have given up temporarily. There was a speed wire connected to the old radio as well as one connected to the old GPS/DVD module, neither are connected to anything now.

So far, everything mechanically seems to work. No check engine, had low rpms at a stop but assuming it was from disconnecting the battery (went away as I drove more)

what is consistent now is the “beep x8 or 10” every time the car is either barely powered on (not cranking the engine), or when turning off the car.
So far from searching I’m only seeing VSC or Master cylinder, but brakes are not spongy, and no VSC light illuminated.

I hate gremlins.

From what I remember, when I updated the Pin out, it wasn't to fix problems anyone was having, it was that the previous one had some hand written marks on it, so I was just cleaning it up and clarifying the 3-4 wire joints.

previous ownerPO: installed a Bluetooth phone, 2 DVD monitors, and some shutoff switches which allow for the DVDs to function while driving and some other crap (didn’t work well anyways). Followed the wires, and seems the PO got power from one of the old Navi plugs, did a separate ground, and a wire to the ignition. Further, the two DVDs from the headrests worked their way into the dash as well.

Now for the update of the “beeping”: had someone install some component speakers on all four, a headunit, and delete all the PO crap.

Fortunately, after install... no more beeping. Was the beeping due to grounding issue? Does it tie into my check engine and start stalls? No idea. But all I can say is it’s running fine now and no issue as of yet. I hope it will stay that way for a long time

Anyone else have this issue, where the dial for temperature control seems to only offer max heat until I get all the way over to the AC setting?

I have not heard of that issue. Easiest way to diagnose would be swap the bezel with a friend close by and see if it does the same thing. Then you know if bezel or wiring. If bezel just need a new one or maybe even just the dial if that can be found

New to the mud crew. I gotta give thanks to the guys that paved the way to make this delete possible. I just did mine in a 2001 LC. I scored it with 150K 1 owner and garaged it's whole life, driven by an old couple. After driving it for a day I knew that old Nav needed to come out. Little google and stumbled on this thread. Called a salvage yard, they had the A/C controls and pigtails I needed. The control had wood grain, after removing the wood plastic and cleaning it up it was ready. Using the Pin diagram was easy and great. I did one at a time so I didn't get confused. After soldering all wires it was ready to test, everything worked right off the bat. I installed a Pioneer DHM-4660Nex for the HU and it works fantastic. AppleCarplay is unreal, I can't believe I lived in the Stone Age with my other radios. The Pioneer paired with the Metra harness was easy and straightforward. All functions worked including the Antenna. I recommend doing this delete, much easier then I thought and so much more functional. Thanks again to TXSunDevil and Patassa for helping and answering all the questions.

Benzosd, good show. Been pondering doing similarly to my 2002 LX470.
Do you have any before and after photos?
What was you cost outlay for the controls and for the radio, if I may ask?
