I have an 04 GX 470 and the front passenger power window drops down an inch after you raise it up to the top . If you raise it again it keeps doing the same thing. Has anyone experienced this? Is the switch bad?

Seems odd, are the window control buttons flashing?

You can reset the button by lowering the window all the way, then, pull up on the switch and hold it until the window hits the top, but keep holding the button up for 2-3 seconds once it is all the way up.

Sounds like the switch logic to control the auto up and down may be confused.

If that doesn't work try unplugging the (-) terminal from the battery for 10 minutes. It will reset all auto-functions on your truck - and your clock too.

It may be a bad window regulator cable. Had another car do that and soon after the whole cable in the regulator came apart and the window did not move at all.

Thanks for this older post by OG GX members!
Was connecting my Ultra Gauge finally and running the power wires for my HAM radio yesterday. After re-connecting the battery terminals I took it for a test drive to make sure everything was working properly. Finished the drive and my window went up but the passenger Windows didn't nor the sunroof. Remembered I forgot to put a fuse back in when I was messing with an add a circuit plug so I could power the CB when I do a trip with Cheap Jeep guys :p:
Put the fuse back in and was able to get the rear windows and sunroof but not the front passenger. So followed Dans instructions and put the passenger window all the way down and back up holding it for 3 seconds at the top from the passenger control and bingo it was working again from the driver controls.

I figured I would ask here rather than making a new thread.

Having a problem with the passenger side rear window control from the drivers switch. The driver's switch can make the rear window go down, but not back up. Tried resetting the switch via 3 second holds on the affected door's switch and I tried disconnecting the battery and resetting / recalibrating all of the switches. I can get the other three windows to work correctly from the driver's switch except the rear passenger.

Pull the panel and look for corrosion on the DS switch panel. Sounds like it isn't connecting properly. If you have your windows down a lot (or cracked) in the rain it can allow moisture to get into that switch panel and cause contact corrosion pretty easily.

I'm having the same issue all of a sudden on my rear driver side window. I can make the rear window go down but not back up from the driver console. The window switch in the rear driver seat works fine up and down but intermittently the window kind of stutters and I have to kind of coax the window up by pushing up while pulling the window switch up. Otherwise, the rear switch works fine, but the driver console switch can only make it go down not up.

I took apart the whole driver master window control to check for corrosion but didn't see any. Anyone have any ideas on what to check next?

Since I own two GXs I swapped my driver's switch panel with my wife's known good one and it can control the rear left window perfectly. So I've narrowed it to the driver's switches. I took the panel apart and didnt see any corrosion. Cleaned what I could with electrical contact cleaner, still no luck.
