I took a quick family photo for all y’all.

Actually looks like my cruisers and my wife’s horses are about to have a gang fight.

Well, things have taken an unexpected 180° turn here.

This 80 has been my favorite Land Cruiser ever to drive. I have loved every single minute of driving it over the past year.

However, @joekatana gave me a chance to be the caretaker of another diesel that some of you may recognize. I just couldn’t say no, and so I sold my 80 to @davegonz. Dave will treat her right, and she’ll stay right here in Austin.

New adventures await all around.

What the skinny on the new 80? Looks pretty sweet. What size tires on the 79? I’ve been reading your thread but probably missed it. One of the reasons I threw up that link I found to 79 bodies for sale.

My new 80 is Marilu, built by @Tapage over the course of a dozen or more years. He sold it to Joe. Joe had planned to make it his, but went in a different direction, and offered her to me. It is a 1995 LHD HDJ80, intercooled 1HDT with a G turbo, water/methanol injection, and is without a doubt the fastest Cruiser I’ve ever driven. I am lucky to be her next caretaker.

Like I said above, there are a lot of adventures ahead for both trucks.

And as for the tire size on the 79, I don’t know what I will run yet. Probably the same 285/70 R17’s that are on Betty White right now. I have a second set of Hilux steelies and will probably duplicate the same setup...though that decision is probably at least a year away.

Oh, it’s gonna get better. Have you seen what @davegonz can do?

Having took a ride in it today I would agree that it has lots on giddy up. The way its tuned it would smoke my 6BT. It sounds mean as hell also.

Yeah, we gotta work on that. Dave, I just got your new boost compensated injection pump from @teleskier.

I finally found Joe's original ad. Some history in the ad.

I kinda want to tune the 12V to see if I can match it even if it would only be for a day.
