I am selling my 1992 HZJ80 , this is a cruiser that was manufactered for the general market and was delivered to the UN. This is a rare cruiser to find as to me at least it has every desirable option and non of the bs options. This is a true “poverty pack “ and hard to find .The 1HZ is in great condition with only 211 k km or around 132k miles on it , the H150 manual transmission has the part time 4wd transfer case behind it . To top it off it comes with oem dual fuel tanks and ac ( needs a charge) . Only thing really missing on this cruiser where lockers so I installed a set of oem e-lockers in it and rebuild the front axle while I was in it , I actually used a set of donor axles from a 97 because this cruiser originally came with a rear sf. I bought it last year in Europe and installed a new OME lift kit and ARB bulbar on it and took it with me to the Southern Cruiser Crawl last October where it performed flawless and since it was a rainy cold weekend I was happy to have brought this 80 vs an open cruiser ;)

At some time in the past someone painted this cruiser silver and I repainted it again in the oem white, nothing fancy just a new coat of white PPG paint. This is not a frame off or like new but a solid cruiser that takes you anywhere and it is probably the rarest 80 in the US. I haven’t had time to really clean it and I am gonna put some UN decals on it and swap out the wheels with oem 17” steelies that are on the way, once that is done it is going on EBay with a 25k buy it now price.

MUD price is 23k for it

1HZ H150
Part time 4wd
Locked axles ( front one just rebuild)
New OME HD lift kit with adjustable panhards
New ARB bumper
Dual fuel tanks
Barn doors
New 33” tires ( some rock rash from SCC)
Timing belt done 10 k miles ago
All oils and filters changed

How’s the undercarriage? What part of Europe? Looks amazing.

Undercarriage is good no rust , I bought it in Belgium from the po but obviously this has spend most of it’s time elsewhere where the climate must have been a lot more cruiser friendly. After I get the decals and other wheels on I will pressure wash it and take a few good pics to list it on Ebay.

True definition of the rugged Land Cruiser! I want it, but its beyond my reach:(.

GLWTS

Nice to see this finally posted. I'm still interested but a few questions:
  1. How tall is the truck right now (including upper rear-facing lights)?
  2. How does the sub-tank work? I see only 1 fuel door, which is unlike the Troopys I've used that have 2 doors and a A/B selector on the dash.
  3. Is the hardware for attaching third row seats in there? I can't see any. Any idea how much of a pain it would be install?
  4. Does the truck have a 17-digit VIN?
thanks!

  1. I will measure that tomorrow
  2. one fuel tank door and filler neck with a push button selector that allows you to fill main or sub tank ( standard on 80 series with oem sub tank)
  3. this did not come with a third seat just like the jdm ones , it can't be that hard to install third row seat but I have never installed those , I only ever removed them ;)
  4. no 12 digit vin but already have a clear blue Texas title in my name ( any reason why this would matter ?afaik none of the jdm ones have the 17 digit vin )

Good idea. Can't say I've seen those wheels. Not 16" like US? Cool truck!

Really cool cool rig. I wish they came to the states like this. I have a 65 fj45 I trade you if you have a hard time selling.:D

Woot! Can't wait to see it.

This thing is a laundry list of every desired feature on an 80 - but this is straight from the factory. Diesel, manual, dual tanks, no third row, no flares, clear glass, on and on. And LHD. And then FF lockers front and rear. So amazing.

Only problem is that the new owner will not get to experience getting to the pesky heater hose, sourcing a power antenna or holding springs in the master window switch.

Beautiful rig. I am probably just as jealous as every other mud member :) Out of curiosity, why wouldn't this have been able to be registered in CA?

None of the import diesel trucks are able for registration in California , a quick search here on Mud will give you all the answers as to why exactly
