Show of hands: How many people actually know what "daily driven" actually means?
How about "clean"?
Not to be a tool, b/c I love to see all these 40's, but it's somewhat laughable that so many people claim they drive these every day or that some of them are clean. Eh....doesn't really matter. I just find it funny that the thread couldn't stand on it's own for what it was originally intended. Still, it has evolved into a thread I like to look at b/c there are some sweet trucks on here! 53 pages, and I bet only a 1/4 are "driven daily". Cheers!

Hand raised. This gets driven every day, pretty much no matter what. I have several other vehicles, that definately get better gas mileage than the 10 I get in this, but it's what I want to drive and have fun driving. Put maybe 250 miles on it today.

for many people "clean" doesn't have to mean Shinny like new..or fresh resto..as long as you put gas a hit the road, get there and came back on your own wheels its all about..i use mine every day cos its my only transportation..until i finish my 1970 RHD....:D

IMHO you are being a bit of a tool.;) Who cares, they are all 40's and we like looking at them in any shape or form.

Without prejudice.

Thanks jb

Love the Pic Slvrbck! What ski area is that in the background?

That's Donner Ski Ranch. We compete several times a year up there between WE Rock and Calrocs.

We use my 40 as a support rig for most events, coolers, tools, food....had to pull the Optima out of it this last comp to put in the buggy because the buggy's red top died.

The thread did say....your clean daily driven 40....:meh:

...exactly. And I did say that even without that, I still enjoyed looking at all the photos anyway.

;p

My '75 FJ. Purchased in Tazmania and imported to South Africa in 2008.

Drive it as often as possible but will become my daily while the 80 GXL gets a clutch replacement and 200k km major service.

Picture taken quikly in Nature reserve while keeping an eye open for Hippos. :hillbilly:

Croozy,

Awesome 40. Your Aussie Shorty 40 link does not work for me. I'd appreciate seeing more of your 40 especially the tire carrier and fuel can carrier. Still love that custom top!

On the way to set up camp. My new paint job and trailer.

nice rig.............like the od greene......:steer:............and the trailer is nice too.....good combo:bounce:

Great rig and photos! From your experience... how does a trailer affect maneuverability off-road or in a city? I'm dreaming up an adventure like Coen in the BJ45 thread... but since I only have a 40 I wonder if it will get too cramped after a while. If I opt for a trailer then I guess I'd be stuck with it in the best and worst conditions so I'd be curious to know what your experience has been?

Thanks mate. The site that my shorty is on got updated & I forgot to put the new site link in my sig line. So it should work now. Also if you click on the other link ( the forum one ) the spare carrier is on page 4. The front bar that is on the car in the pics is now gone & I'm part way through making another one.

not much difference really, it's pretty short, I've driven through steep washouts, clay based, tight corners, rough uneven terrain, and I have not had a problem. On the highway just make sure your steering and brakes are up to snuff.
