Let me know if you want a copy my 93/94 pin out spread sheet. I put it together to help me figure the interface when I did my swap. A number of people on this board now have a copy of it and I would like to see it get put to good use. Pretty much everything happens through the IH1 and IH2 connectors and if someone could source just the plugs and pins then it could be possible to make a harness that plugs in between the gm harness and Toyota body harness. I had to sacrifice my 1FZ harness to make it work.

Which LS motor would be the best and most reliable for swap? Giving up a bullet proof motor and tranny even though under powered is not the easiest choice to make.
i think any of the engines will be great. 4.8,5.3,5.7,6.0. the trans is ok too but the valve body sticks out on same side as front DS. so a nice lift kit will be in order(6") i haven't seen anyone try with a shorter lift for front DS.for the engine, good thing is parts are cheap, easy to find, and the engine makes a lot of power. the PCM is easier to program too.

Are you saying in order to do an LSX swap you would have to have a minimum of 6" of lift ?

no. but using the 4l60e trans depending on how you mount drive train you may run into issues with front DS touching the trans. and i have not seen one yet with a smaller lift so im not sure what other options may be. I would like to try it with a 3" lift but i dont want to put up the money incase it doesnt work out then have to sell it less than what i paid for.

Wow, 6 inches lift just to make the swap happen, seems excessive. Can you not just clearance the pans in order to make room ? Is this just with the 4l80 or does the 4l60 have the same issue ?
my mistake. that is with 4l60e. typo i changed it. with the 4l80e i think ( would have to double check) has the valve body centered and shouldnt have a problem with the front DS. but currently i dont know if marks 4x4 makes an adapter for 4l80. i would like to change to that in the future. but the 4l80e may consume more power.

@rockrod Have all the conversions that you have done had 6" lifts on them?

i am also asking someone else. I did the swap but haven't installed front DS but i also swaped to the 89 LC Tcase. i do have clearance issue. but seems for those using the fj80 Tcase and use the AA adapter may have better clearance. will be waiting on responses. thanks

for my conversion i used a combination of a 3in lift and a tattons spicer style CV shaft to gain the needed clearance around the transmission pan. The tatton shaft is a 2in dia tube. It's also a good idea if you are using a truck variant of the LS motor to swap the oil pan for the LS1 powered camaro. the truck pan hangs way low. i used an adapter from Marks 4wd of australia to mate the 2wd 4l60e to the stock tcase so the rear drive shaft was completely stock and unmodified. The AA adapter is the marks adapter and you can get it much faster just by ordering direct from marks through the online web site.

there are several threads in this forum about doing this swap. just search vortec and a bunch will come up. some of the users are no longer active and i have sold my 80 but I am more than happy to field any questions.

i got this response from 35inchoverdrive :"The truck in the build thread has a 2" lift(850 front, 864 rear). Running the shallower F body transmission pan, we did not have any front driveshaft issues. A typical 3" lift would be ideal, since they run 2" bump stop drops. Oil pan clearance can be an issue depending on what engine and which pan you have."

Looks like TX2K15 is taking precedence so the race car comes first. I plan on working Arya Ebrahimi on this once
