I was thinking of getting some, but was a little confused by their date for change over for the brackets. I thought the changes from the early 60's to the later 60's for the seat bracket configuration was in 1984.

Just installed a set of seats into an ‘88 using these brackets. Perfect fit. Should be good in your 60 using the part you listed.

That looks great nice work. I've been looking for seat replacements for my '89 fj62. I've got a grey interior as well and embarking on an interior upgrade. As for the Sheel-Mann seats, do you like them?
It looks like you have the Traver F Seat?

Honestly, I have yet to actually drive the truck with the seats. Got the stink-eye from the wife for spending so much time on it this weekend while the kids are in town for the Holiday…

Scheel-Mann Vario F XXL in grey cloth and leatherette. I’m 6’1”, so the original seats hit me mid shoulder blade and had no lumbar support. Call Toby and describe you and your co-pilots stats and he’ll suggest the seats.

This is what I started with, so a vast improvement!

wow, looks to be a nice upgrade. Your reference to Toby.... contact at Sheel Mann? Thanks again!
Toby is the USA rep for Scheel-Mann OR. Defenders Northwest (WA) also sells/stocks SM seats.

Planted is in Bellevue, WA and I've got their brackets in my 1990 62. They used my 100 Series to template their brackets for the 100/LX470. If you order seats with brackets through Toby. they're what you'll get.

If anyone is looking for armrests for Scheel-Mann seats I've got two lefts and a right in charcoal grey. Could only fit driver's right with my 10" Tuffy console.

Hey. I've ordered these brackets for new seats. They haven't arrived, but I'm trying to install my carpet. My rear-inside (closest to center console) front seat mounting towers have 2 bolt holes. Pretty sure my OEM use the outside. Can you share whether these use inside our outside bolt holes? Thanks.

Does Trail Tailor no longer provide them? That's where I got mine a few years ago.

I suspect Trail Tailor fabricated them in-house.
So Trail Tailor owns Planted?

Still trying to figure out whether to open the inside or outside hole. I’ll just reach out to Planted.

I have no idea if there is or has been a business relationship between the two. The last photo in this linked post give you a glimpse of my that came from Trail Tailor....FWIW. I’m neck deep in this right now. I’m installing BMW seats in my 1984. The main issue I have with these will be the height of the seats. When I place the seats on top of the mounts (no brackets) the seats sit really high. I am 5’11 and I was quite close to the ceiling. My friends that are way taller would struggle. I found I needed to cut out the tall brackets used in the early 60 series and fab up my own Brackets.

These planted seat ones would have you keeping your own brackets and placing these on top. Look at the Torfab brackets and their directions more importantly to see their approach. Unfortunately the brackets both you and I need are out of stock.

However, there are some people that made the tall seat mounting option work on the early model fj60.

Apparently my question about the Planted seat bracket really opened up Pandora's box. LOL

If you're switching to BMW seats, I would definitely use the Torfab brackets. Everything from that shop is high quality and designed well. I'll be switching to Corbeau seats, so will be going with the Planted bracket.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jason at Trail Tailor made these at some point. If he did, they would be top quality, form, and fit. If he did in the past, he doesn't know.

When I hear from Planted or when the brackets get here, I'll post up the answer about which holes they align to.

Thanks.

Does any one have the dimensions of the Planted Seat bracket top plate?

Their website conveniently doesn't show it.

I have Corbeau brackets, similar to the Planted but they are 17" wide and 14" deep.

However, the Lexus GS350 seats that I have to install are 17" on center for the mounting rails.
