Worse. child custody. the most biased tar pit you could ever be part of because its designed to rob you.

PP25 is two months out and the minimal voting for the dates have landed on June 5-8 so that is the date we will plan toward.

There doesn’t seem to be a lot of interest this year but not sure if most are just in a wait and see mode.

Please drop a note in this thread to confim:
1) you are definitely attending
2) you are trying to attend
3) you cannot attend

Thanks!
2 - working on the budget part

So being that I’ve never attended, I’m curious about the details. Mainly, do we stay at a campground and venture out from there each day like the only other events I’ve attended? Or do we camp at different spots along the way?
And then do you already know where we’d be camping exactly or is that still being worked out?

Each year is a bit different and both options have been done in various years. For PP25, it looks like the current plan will be to do the trail and camp along the way. I am working with a local on camping spots along the trail so stay tuned.

PP always seems to be a bit too far west. The most I have driven is 5 hrs to PA to wheel.

The SSS was in TN last year and hopefully again this year. I may give it a go.

Pig Party 2025
June 5-8
Western Wyoming in the Star Valley area

We are about 5-ish weeks out from the PP!!

PP25 will be led by Jake and Jeff England who live in the area and know the trails well plus the best places to camp along the way. They will share some pictures in this post so that we can all see how beautiful this area is with mountains and trees and lakes.

Daily Overview
Thursday: arrive near Smoot / Afton, WY and camp or hotel
Friday: trail day and camp along trail
Saturday: trail day and camp along trail
Sunday: drive Grand Teton National Park loop and depart for home

This would allow you to extend the trip and visit more in the GT National Park and/or visit Yellowstone National Park.

All camp locations will be dispersed camp sites so no cost/fees.

More detail to follow.

Pig Party 2025
Hello all.

I used to lurk in the Pig Preservation Society forum quite frequently throughout my FJ55 ownership. Unfortunately I have sold my pig. @DTC72 being the inclusive person he is, reached out anyway and invited me to join this year. I'll likely be driving my 80, possibly my 40. Perhaps the more controversial decision was that he extended that invitation to my older brother Jeff who will be joining in one of his vintage Land Rovers. I can vouch for Jeff's character, despite his questionable vehicle choice. I felt like I had to rib him a little, this being an LC forum.

For those arriving Thursday that would prefer stay at a hotel the first night, there is a Marriott, Kodiak Mountain Resort, or some other options in Afton. We will be departing south of Smoot which is about 15 miles south of Afton. There are no services, fuel, etc in Smoot.

We have two proposed routes depending on how quickly the snow pack melts [or doesn't] over the next month. Both routes will have a mix of narrow fire roads and wider, smooth access roads. Neither route should get difficult enough to cause damage to your Pig. Here are some pics:

Option A

PP24 is 4 weeks away June 5-8 so hopefully everyone knows their plans. The details are above along with pictures of the beautiful country we are going to. The people who have indicated they are coming so far:

1) David = dtc72
2) Mike = Mike_AZ
3) Craig = fj55tlc
4) Jake: trail guide = residualboulders
5) Jeff: trail guide
6) Don & Debra = Pigeaten
7) cruisin 605 => maybe
8) Gordon = Gordobe

Please respond to this thread so I can get an accurate count. I plan on making FJ55 hat with an embroidered “4 Wheel Drive” logo on it. Yes like the emblem on the tailgate. I will give these out no cost to each truck that attends.

Hope more of you can make it. 😎
