One of the many great things about MUD is that I have an outlet to vent my Cruiser addiction and not be considered crazy (well, maybe not). In my Town, pretty much NO ONE gets it.

I kinda knew the day would come when a 55 had to happen. It is the tale of two 55's really, both of which are 2 pigs in the bush. One of the two is about to be in the hand. It's a pretty rough but complete, but apart 70. Leaving right now to get it.

The second is for sale by a mudder on here and is a really promising restoration candidate and I hope it works out where we both walk away (drive away, tow away...whatever) happy. To be continued.

For now, here's my rig ready to go pig hunting!

One pig in hand! Usual rust, but not totally shot. I will start sorting small stuff today.

Basically, I now have a really nice parts donor at least. Next is to get the organ recipient - Pig in the bush #2!

Feels like I'm a 10 year old on Christmas morning right now.

More picture entertainment whilst having your morning coffee.

A tub with a few NOS gaskets. Still gotta go through them. That's a huge score!

It has a super nice gas tank, excellent shape frame and chassis. Also, the motor turns by hand and at least at first look, appears to have been apart (rebuilt?).

This looks eerily like my Pig project.

Honestly, I won't beat around the bush- this is all your fault! After reading that thread of yours.:grinpimp:

Seriously, it has been inspiring to say the least.

I put the small stuff away, to be cataloged later (yeah right).

I didn't like the stripped down body look AND I needed a place to store the sheetmetal, AND I had a huge bag of reusable heavy duty zip ties we save off the powder coating boxes at the shop.

Result: zip tie fj55 restoration. I set the grill on for a picture but put it away to save afterwatds because it's really nice.

I don't think I will part out a thing until I sleep on it. Was originally red and white.

Dream plan would be to buy a running project to enjoy, work on this one to the point of a running project, so the better truck can really get a going over. Kinda have one for fun all of the time. We'll see

Running project 55 deal has been struck. Stay tuned!

All loaded up, truck washed, trailer washed and waxed (I'm not psychotic, just wanted the last of winter's salt off and something to seal off crud sticking), straps, tools, etc.

9+ hour drive starting at 4:00 a.m.

Trying to fill the second tag in my pig hunt!

Wish me luck.
