A little before and after of the 10mm bolts. Cleaned up well with a media blast/Air and WD40.

Quick question on master brake cylinders....
Going with a fj80 master with the 1" bore, is that comparable to a 4Runner master/booster setup??? (ie. extra size being better with the FJ80 MC??)
I may have clearance issues with the webber on a 4Runner system.
Any thoughts??? Thanks guys and gals.

What brakes are you running? Disc/drum? Disc/disc? I think our drum masters are 3/4" bore, that is my memory of my '74 MC.
I thought the smaller the bore, the more pressure you can apply to the brakes, equalling what feels like a more "powerful pedal". I look forward to other responses...

If you're putting different knuckles on a different axle, you need to use the centering tool. Trust me. I have one I can loan, if needed. Thanks Scrapdaddy... I kept all the shims separate off the mini truck donor axle in Ziploc bags.
I actually was going to use the original ones as they seem in good shape. But maybe I will just do an equal swap to update the shims.
Thanks for the note. I appreciate all the advice for sure.

Just ordered a used Corolla primary cylinder to try out and see its effectiveness on my 55 with front discs and rear drums.
If this cylinder works, then I will go with a OEM Corolla cylinder/booster set up which will fit nicely into my cruiser. (and plenty of clearance for the carb.)
This cylinder is already set up for disc/drums so just need to figure how to plumb my single 9mm lines to the 10mm fittings on the cylinder.
Thanks again to Pablo Cruise, J Mack and FishTacos for the recommendations.

New bearing races installed in the new (ish) hubs for my front disc swap. Another step closer. (The notch I cut out on the old races I did to use those as guides for the new race install. Worked great.)View attachment 925884
