Has anyone had any luck permanently disabling the evap canister sensor on their 200?

I am in the process of fixing all the issues with my truck before selling it, and this is the last thing I am down to. Trying to determine if there is an easy way to fix engine code it throws (which prevents 4 LO from being engaged), before I decide if it's worth the money to get a new evap canister.

Thanks in advance.

Watching. But doubt there is a work around or we would know by now
I certainly wouldn't defeat the evap sensor on a truck I was selling. Tampering with emissions equipment is a federal violation & opens you up to liability. Esp. now that you've posted about it.

Better to disclose to the buyer and sell as-is -- or fix it and jack the price up accordingly.

<edit> Meant to quote OP not @clrussell

So is taking the tag off your mattress.

Oh I’m just wondering if anyone figured out a work around.

I’m not Going to bandaid one and sell it

Probably by design, this is not going to be easy to defeat. The EVAP system has active tests that look for nominal responses to demonstrate that the system is in working order.

As a wonder.. I wonder if you could turn off said codes with tuning software?

I know it’s been done on GM..

Short answer is yes. Real answer is this is complicated with several hurdles - primarily flashing software and a SW image.

These also exist in the Porsche world where commonly, people will flash rest of world (ROW) software images that doesn't have USDM emission components.

You are probably right - frustrating though.

That is what I suspected. I've heard the Toyota systems are more complicated and can't be as easily modified as US vehicles.

False equivalence.

The tag serves no function in the operation of a mattress.
If you read the tag, it also indicates it can be removed by end user/consumer.

#uselessknowledge

Does that mean you can’t sell it after removal?

Side note: I often wonder what great childhood memories I was forced to forget to make brain room for facts like this..

I don’t know what the used mattress market looks like, but can say anyone looking for a used mattress wouldn’t likely balk at no tag.

Peewee’s big adventure taught me many a life skills.
