Good afternoon,

The weather is warming up here in GA. My A/C is cold for a while and then it gradually warms up to the point it is like a heater. I can turn it off and drive for a few minutes and then turn it on and it may(may not) return to cool. I replaced the radiator 18 months ago and refilled with TOYO red. It is not overheating. I have replaced the oil in my fan clutch as well. I have read all the threads and FAQ on the topic. Any thoughts?

Exactly what I dealt with last summer. I have an expansion valve to replace it with this summer.

I had a issue similar, but it was more like the AC just stopped all at once. It was the expansion valve and the thermistor.

Likely the AC expansion valve. They get old and go bad. Need to pull out the glove box and passenger side of the dash.

that is the most likely cause, expansion valve gets clogged and freezes up restricting Freon flow resulting in a/c warming up.

at least yours works, ive been meaning to fix that for the last 5 years or so

I have ordered a expansion valve and a dryer. Any advice? when I do the vacuum will it remove the oil? Do I need to add more prior to charging? Any advice is appreciated!

Replaced expansion valve and drier. Vacuumed down-no leaks! Ran vacuum for hour and then refilled with 134. Cold!!!! Thank you for your help!

There is more to this job than meets the eye.
You need to get on Rock and order up an Denso Expansion Valve (block in center of Evap) and an Accumulator Drier, both are cheap.
Both take an evening to replace.
My Evap Core was dirty and I degreased and washed it.
If you want to do this correctly then you have the system evacuated, change the parts then have them Pull a vacuum, and confirm it holds for a few hours then fill into the vacuum using a set of Freon Gauges. Put Mineral Oil on your Connections and add some PAG Oil in each component (with UV dye preferably).
Careful taking the dash apart, as parts are no longer available and you will have to go get them at Junk Yard or go Without.

Did all those things and am pleased with results. Bought parts on Amazon. Was cheaper for Denso.
