As long as nothing prohibits me in the next 11 hours from going, I can swing by to pick the strap up if needed, oh wait, that whole several minutes or so may throw my whole morning off :flipoff2:

BTW, Does anyone have a reciever hitch with a shackle? I think I have a couple of bolts that fit for recovery points in the rear (just in case). Just don't feel like going out now to test them and I still have to run to the store to pick up some food in a bit.

So Dan ... how do we all go about getting one of these?

My parents had one of those 'Retro' American Toyota plates on their '88 Camry until they sold it some time in the late-90's with over 300K miles on it. Of course it wasn't retro in 1988 but it sure seems that way 20 years later. I wonder if my dad still has it hanging around somewhere in one of his toolboxes.

Rudy, I have a 5/8" grade 8 bolt that fits in the receiver. Is that what you are looking for? I also have a regular 5/8" hitch pin which works for most tugs, but is not load rated. You can insert the end of a strap in the receiver and secure with the bolt in a pinch.

You got it! Taking orders. Hope Dan has enough.

Despite the sound of American Toyota being an oxymoron, and Mr T does not want to give us all the $chit they have overseas (not to mention we have to build our own), I will take one and, will trade you for one of those fj40 bezel key chains, if you haven't bought one already.

I have not had the chance to measure the bolt yet. It is one that screws into the frame through the reciever. Now that I think about it again I could maybe use one of the two bolts that Rory and I had problem with on the front bumper. Hopefully I won't need one. If you have room, I would'nt mind it if needed,

You da'man. Thanks!

ok, i think i'm packed.

I need to go work on this. Bachelor pads don't have all the lunch things already there (unless you have a hot girl you are expecting). Anyone hear from Ash? . i will check the tread when I get back.

I'm back...had company over tonight.

I'll pick up the strap from Mike tomorrow. Leave them out on the front somewhere pls.
I packed Rudy's chains.

Pack extra foods everyone - better to come back with food rather than run out!

See y'all at 0800.

Thanks.

I packed Rudy's chains.

Thanks.

Guess that means I better show my a@@ up. Does anyone have room in a cooler or fridge for a bit or lunch meat and cheese? My dogs chewed one up and the small one I wanted to take will make one puk (believe me I know) cuz forgot to clean it out. I have a bigger one that is fine, but don't really want to pack it for a small amount of food.

i have a standard receiver that takes a D-shackle on my 40. if you have a receiver hitch, we can transfer mine over if needed. c- y'all in the mornin'.

Thanks Shawn,

Right now there is only one bolt on the hitch, but hopefully I won't need need it. I any case i will be up bright and early to make sure I have something to secure the hitch.

it's 0630 and I'm leaving the house for Waffle House on Tramway, then I'll head to Mike's house.

Jon - I think you need to fix your clock or something...

All I can say...

 !!!

I missed judged one of the tank traps needed Jon to winch me back off with Greg as an anchor. Thought I better admit it before Jon brings it up.
