Deep Snow

It was deep near the top.

This is were Shawn moved to the front to plow the snow for the rest of us with his big a$$ tires. Almost to his hubs and some parts were deeper.

Ash, this was I the first time I have been on a run with Shawn. You still wonder why it hard to sell my 40?

Did you guys go all the way over the top? From which way? What time did you get back? Was the mud at the south end frozen? Who all went? Jon - what kind of chains were they? Inquiring minds want to know...

I have no idea what's going on with my posts. Odd that it jumped to the bottom. At least the pics are there.

Steve...

No we didn't make it over the top. We didn't make it to where Rory broke down last year. There was a grade right after the tank traps that Shawn was able to plow up, but it was getting super deep and steep. I'll try and get a map up.

We came up from Ponderosa.

We came back relatively early. I want to say we started airing up and pulling chains around 5pm, maybe sooner.

The mud was covered with a nice thick layer of snow.

They were Sarah's chains. All three links were on the passenger side, all from the inside of the tire, and all attached to a cross-link connector. We have our theories, discussed at dinner last night.

Hey guys long time no see!

After seeing the run you all were going to do (which I couldn't do because I had previous plans....:frown:) I decided to get some friends together and go up on Sunday!;p

Thanks to your plowing we had a pretty easy time getting up to the point where you guys turned around. Shortly after that we ran into some Heep owners who were blazing new trail. Unfortunatly, there was a Heep in my group of friends, and he kept getting stuck and we had bring out his winch to keep him from tumbling off the side. All in all, it was a great time and we were glad to be able to go, even if it wasn't with the group.

On another note, I got married in November!!!:bounce::bounce2: That was an incredible experience! Plus, my new wife loves going on the trails with me (and driving when it's not too scary in her mind!) and she can't wait to go on a run with the group. We're hoping for another good snow run before the season ends.

Hope to see you all soon and hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

First, congrats Matt! Way to go.

But geez, are you packing in that wedding photo? That has to be the first time I've ever seen a wedding picture where the groom felt it necessary to wear a side arm to protect his bride.

I wish I had thought of that.

Congratulations Matt!

So, did you guys go all the way over the Paliza pass and down the other side?

We probably went about 1/4 mile farther than the group did. It certainly got harder once the tracks ended!

Hey Matt -

Congratulations on getting married! We haven't seen you in a while. Hope to see you (and your new bride) soon on the trail!

Evan
