Hi everyone,

I am taking access to the ordering database offline while I try to rework the design to facilitate accurate order details, pricing, etc. I will post a notice again when I am done. The catalog remains online for viewing in the meantime.

PS: If I loose data, I'll let you know. Everyone will have a chance to give their orders second looks when I am done.

Hi again,

Database has been reorganized. To view go to www.global-ims.intranets.com and enter the site usinf the "Enter as a Guest" link located to the mid-lower left of the login page. This is a walk-through:

Inside the Home Page you will see a charcoal gray bar acrross the top with the following link-active labels:

1. PAKISTANI SOFT TOP BUYER REGISTRY|2. EHSAN'S PART INC CATALOG|3. ORDER TOOL|4. SOFT TOP INSTALLATION

The buyer registry contains your names, email addresses, IH8MUD names, and vehicle data only. I deleted all the other personal information, i.e., work and home addresses/phone numbers, etc. for security reasons. By granting guest access, I no longer control who can view your records, thus the rationale to delete personal contact information other than email and names. That means your email addresses remain the only form of contact, so if you change address after you pay for your order, please let me know.

Ehsan's PART INC CATALOG was redesigned with a link in each record that opens to a complete description of each part with photos where available.

The ORDER TOOL is a new table linking the buyer's registry and Ehsan's Part List tables so that each buyer can now add more than one item to their order in a cumulative order. It lists the part ordered and price, grouped under each buyer's name. Any buyer can now have the tool calculate the total price when more than one item have been ordered by entering his/her first or last name in the [SEARCH] box above the list of items. The prices listed fo not include shipping, taxes, or any other costs incurred in the processing and delivery of items to their final destination. Please take a moment to check the total price of your parts once over.

A link to Ehsan's SOFT TOP INSTALLATION site follows, with pictures on how the tops are made and installed.

I don't anticipate making any more changes to the database for now. Next step is to scrub the orders free of vague language. I have already emailed some of you asking for clarifications. Please address these at your earliest convenience.

...and let me know what you think so far,

Ricardo

Look up the highest recorded temp in SC last summer and that should give you an idea, unless you have AC!
Most 40s here have A/Cs. I have a 40 A/C unit even in my 70 Cherokee. :).. But then.. Thats a hard-top

I am taking suggestions on how to fairly split all incremental costs associated with our 5-31-07 order among members in the buyer group registry (13 to date), since order size/weight varies from buyer-to-buyer. By the way, this group order will be identified by it's closing date to distinguish from any others that may begin thereafter.

I anticipate incremental costs derived from: crate-shipping from Pakistan to New Orleans-USA, import taxes or fees assigned by Customs, storage fees, unloading crate and re-shipping individual orders by land from New Orleans to other cities within the USA, insurance (if the group wishes for such an investment).

One simple way is to assign a fractional share of the incremental costs to each buyer based on the size of their purchase relative to the group's total. For example, if my purchase order represents 10% of the total purchase price, then I should be responsible for 10% of the incremental shipping and delivery costs.

I am open to any other suggestions by the group, however. We should have this settled very soon. Post your comments here. I will go with how a majority feels it should be assigned.

sounds fair to me. Just divide it up by straight order %

Ricardo, everything looks great! Only I never put in for a bikini top?

thanks, Sean

Fixed. Your request for the Trail Top threw me off, as it was an item unknown to me. However, Ehsan send me pics of the trail Top and it has been added to his catalog on the intranet. Please verify your oder again at the site since I changed it.

Hi Ricardo,

I am listed for a soft top and hardware in kahki canvas. I would like to change to Green Canvas Soft top Complete kit. It is listed on the DB for 700.00. How do I change the DB to represent my new order?

Thanks,
Idus Rhodes

I am also interested in the group buy. I guess the only question left for me is, does anyone have any idea when the tops might be here if ordered by the middle of June. I understand there is no way to mail down a specific date, but could we get some idea as to how long is will really take? Also how do we need to be prepared to send the funds. Thanks.

I have been putting tops in boxes to get them ready for shipping. I wanted to post the pics so you can get idea what the new material and canvas tops looks like.

HELLO,
I was just wondering ...out of all the different materials which would be best for all season driving??? I guess i am wondering which one would be best for winter driving or really wet climates. I am from British Colubia (Canada) and would be using my cruiser in the winter.

Thanks Rick
