I need an awning to cover the kitchen area. We had to wait out a thunderstorm before we could cook dinner Saturday.

This was about an hour before the storm hit, I was exploring on my bike.

And this was the road back to our camp about 20 min. after the thunderstorm hit. I was soaked when I got back to the truck.

So I need to research some brackets for the top. I know it'll be a huge PIA to install them now that the tops on and glued down, esp. with the remnant-lip of the original top still there.

Alu-innovations makes them for the top. I have a 270 awning attached.

What side are you planning to out your awning on?

Thanks! Right side, U.S. passenger side to cover the side table/kitchen area.

Ping Cassiem via whatsapp and he can probably get you some made/sent.

Are you putting a 270 on or just a 180?

I have heard that the AluCab awning mounts will work as well, but haven't tested this myself.

Shoot me a text/call and I can show you exactly how I mounted mine.

I had the bright idea of going camping too, although it didn’t rain much where we went. It was super nice till about 6pm Saturday.

Cheers

I'll most likely try the AluCab mounts. I've had zero luck getting any response from Alu-Innovations on any of my emails/requests for info. I don't even know what 'whatsapp' is...and have no desire to learn, I barely know how to text.

whatsapp is the eurotrash instagram :hillbilly:
more like the most used messaging system in the world outside of the USA. Well, at least it used to be, before it was bought by Facebook. Now I think Telegram is the most used.

Runs purely off data, the rest of the world doesn't text via the SMS we use in the USA.

Added a couple toggle/cam clamps to the tire carrier. I have a light mast that comes in handy for light at camp. It's too long to stow inside any of my cabinets, so I decided to mount it to the tire carrier.

Got running water. Purchased this Dometic water jug and electric spigot at the annual REI sale. The base of the spigot is magnetic, it comes with two ferrous plates and some double-sticky tape to mount the pucks. I put one on the jug and was going to put one on the side table, but my wife had the brilliant idea to use some sheet metal and make a bracket for the channel. Great idea as it gets the spigot up off the table and I can set the coffee pot under it and hit the button to fill it. It runs for 1-liter, then shuts off, so no worries that it will empty the jug if I get distracted.

Got an additional 10 feet of food-grade 1/4" silicon tubing and a union. I have to manually prime the 10-feet of tubing (that's not too hard as I can really suck).

Jug sits behind the passenger seat, tubing runs out the window and added a little bracket to the channel that holds the traction boards. Tubing is long enough, I can also run it to the back door and use it there if I need to, we have yet to use it, so the position may change.

Until I get the funds together to buy an external tank that mounts underneath, this will do. 3-gal isn't a lot, but it's enough for a weekend trip and I have my 5-gallon jug I can fill this one from. I haven't tried it, but I could probably just stick the suction tube into the 5-gallon jug and suck out of it as well.

Lets see if the video share link works...

Also would be nice if the front windows were sliders as I wouldn't need to snake the tubing out the back window, then back to the front.

That's such a great movie. I watched it the night before I went to bootcamp in 1988. I thought for sure my drill instructors must have watched it too as I swear they were quoting some of lines...I had a hard time keeping a straight face at times.

I dig that little pump. I assume it’s rechargeable?
