Thats right it's time to start talking about it. 7 weeks away.

Who: Upstate Cruisers, Toyota Trail team (Woody), STLCA

When: August 10th-12th

Where: McNabb Campground

How much: Nothing! We will reserve a campsite for you at McNabb group campground. Right now we are asking for 20 dollars per tent as most of this will go for food Friday night and possibly Sat night.

The Down Low: Plan to camp Friday and Saturday. We are working with STLCA Friday around 12. And then on Sat putting up some trail head signs. But plan on being able to have plenty of time to do what you want. This event is for you to enjoy. We will plan(on having at least 3 classified rides on Sat. Hardcore (those who don't mind damage and have at least one if not two lockers and 32" or bigger tires, then there will be our usual ride through 4, 5, 6 in no particular order. And then we will have a scheduled night ride. Depending on the # of confirmed people at the event each of these rides could be split into more than one group.

Food: My special Buffalo wings Friday night with french fries, carrots and celery along with blue cheese and ranch dipping sauces. Hot, mild, hot teriyaki, teriyaki will be the flavor. Also we will have JP around to make us a couple gallons of Rotel dip. Diner Sat is still to be decided but it could be anything from burgers to steak depending on what we have money wise.

Camping: McNabb will be our home base this time. We have found that it is just better and gets us all closer together. It has a limit of 100 people and 60 vehicles. Everything has been taken care of. My plan is to travel up Thursday and reserve the canopy site. Sit out relax and enjoy the stars. If you want to come join me you are more than welcome. Then hang out till lunch for those coming early to help with trail maint.

Goodies: We will have a t-shirt made this year. They will be available 2 weeks before the event as well as at the event.

Who else: Prospective members, and we have asked STLCA to join us for this event. The Eastern Toyota Trail Team will also be joining us for this one. If you are not aware Woody (Brian) is in this group. He is the owner of IH8MUD.

Who is in charge: Our former President Alex Garcia has stepped up to the plate to organize this. I will be his second in command and club cook.

Paying for camping and food: Right now it is 20 per tent. That could become smaller as we get closer to the date. But plan on paying or getting for someone to pay for through paypal. It's a heck of a lot easier for me to manage. Who, when and how much.

More details to come next week.

If you have any questions you can e-mail marshall@828rugs.com[/emaim] me or post them below. No question is to stupid, just take a look at a few of mine and you Will understand.

Good stuff, I can't wait. This event is always a blast, I wouldn't miss it for the world!!!

Putting my vacation request in for the Friday before and Monday after AND still trying to convince Captain Jim to trailer up with me :D.

I am sure it will be a killer event as always!!!!!!!!! Just wish I could make it :frown:

you guys have a blast , and whatever you do don't let Woody drive your rig........ he has a tendency to break things :grinpimp:

I had planned on making it but found out last week that my family is celebrating my Granddad's b-day on the 11th. I hope everyone has fun. I think to keep in the spirit I'll drive my Piggie to Columbia that day!

I really want to try to make this event. If I don't have a rig by then, maybe I can thumb a ride?

always

Vacation time approved - and Pop might have off beginning of August - kool having a second road trip driver.

Jim - I know you're in SC - but you need to check your e-mail. Sent you a link to a bill on the Gov's desk that affects you're business...

Just wondering if this event is "Family-Friendly"? I can either bring my 3YO and wife, or I can bring a few of my buddies, but not both.

What are the facilities like? Are there restrooms or showers or anything, or are we roughing it? Either way is great for me, but it will make the difference on whether my wife & daughter join me.

How hardcore is the trail cleanup going to be? My buddies and I can work like madmen, but if I bring the Fam, I won't be of as much help.

Thanks

Families are welcome. Dan brought his kids last time with no problems. Except for the whole flicking people in the ear thing and the turning on the stove and lantern when not lit thing. :D lol

We do have a tendancy to get rowdy at night but that will be around the main camp area. After 9 I have no control over the Mafia.

Drinking is up to you. There is no alcohol allowed where we are camping. But and I will say but in the past the game wardens have not had an issue with it as long as we don't make them have an issue with it and kept it out of sight. But I guarantee nothing.

There are toilets at the campsites. But they are just a toilet over a hole. I will provide showers assuming I bring my cruiser. We might be able to talk the Captain to bring his.

There is water all around.

Couple of things.

No alcohol on the trails
No littering

This quote comes to mind "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. "

Bill I talked to Jim last night he said he would be in as long as there were no Hurricanes coming his way.

Sweeet! As to Hurricanes - I'm in the same boat if one comes - ironically we have to stay home to board stuff up once in a while.

Very good, Shepherd!
