Man they sent me the wrong ones. I ordered mine to fit my front mud flaps... they're to long :-/. Waited nearly 2 months for the wrong ones.

Bummer, I know the last special they ran put them in the weeds. Maybe LT will see if you can list them locally so he won't have to eat the return shipping on them. I know someone in TX would probably take them pretty quick.

They've got great customer service. Hope they get you taken care of like they did me.

What paint are you guys using to paint these?
I used a mid-grade spray paint, depends on your wants. My first set I wiped down with rubbing alcohol, sprayed a coat of primer and used Krylon/Rustolem or whatever, step up from the $1.00-$2.00 a can, might have been a 4 dollar can. took two I think, plus one extra for a touch up. Now this is being said that I don't care about looks as much as do rust. No paint/powercoating will withstand what these sliders are intended for; big nasty sharp ass rocks and stumps. I just put another set on my fathers FZJ too. Perfect fit. 2 for 2!

Same here, I did a coat of primer and then black enamel. I forget the brand but it was in the $4/can range as I recall. Within 3 days of getting mine on I had taken some good hits on both sides and was pretty darn surprised at how well my terrible spray job held up. I'm just gonna keep beating on em and re-spraying em. I'm very glad I didn't opt for powder coating. I found that the enamel I used (can't remember if it was gloss or semi-gloss) was a pretty close match to the powder coating on the bumpers.

I used the etching primer loaded with zinc and then JD blitz black.

I just got done painting the DS. I scotch pad sanded clean, then wiped with mineral spirits until all the black was no longer on the towel. Then dried with clean towel. Used Store-brand primer (grey) x3 coats then went back after it dried with Store-brand Satin Black x3 coast. Came out bitchin!! :hillbilly:

Put mine on last fall and have been getting a banging noise from them. Turns out every outrigger is contacting the pinch weld.

I'm curious if anyone else has this problem and if not how much spacing do you have between the two.

I bought this truck from CA and a lot of rubber is cracked and gone so I'm hoping it's just body mounts.

I had enough play in how high/low I set the slider from the pinch weld, that I have not noticed any contact. I think I have between 1/4" and 1/2" clearance. With all the mounts tight, I don't even get 1/4" movement between slider and the pinch weld (with a 300 lb buddy hopping on the slider) even with the truck rocking pretty good. My only contact point was at the rear pinch weld of the rear cat. I folded that over about 45 degrees, and no more contact. Perhaps my body mounts (also a CA truck) are in better shape?

No banging noise here. I did have to remove my exhausts heat shield due to vibrating noise. Thats it. Good as gold for me.

All three frame mounts on the driver side slider are in contact with the pinch weld, stupid annoying vibration, I'm just to lazy to loosen and try to adjust em or take a pair of hand seemers and bend the pinch weld up.
Passenger fits like a dream
I been abusing the piss out of them, LT an his crew make a stout product!!!

DS slider had plenty of clearance, PS had contact with pinch weld in the front as well as the cat heat shield. I just bent the pinch weld out of the way and pulled the heat shield.

My old Slee sliders touched the pinch weld and caused a horrible noise. I loosened brackets and shimmed a little bit of flat iron at the top of each bracket just enough to angle them them down a tad. Seemed to work.

I installed OPOR a couple of weeks ago, they did touch but I left them loose enough prior to final torquing, and used prybar and my ample baby fat to reposition enough to not touch. Maybe 5mm gap at the closest, but most have ample clearance. The rear cat bolts did touch and rattled, I had to reposition cat by lifting 1/2" at most, now all quiet.

After reading about these for a while I just spoke to LT and pulled the trigger on a set, shipping Monday he said. Looks like a very well made product and can't wait to throw them on the truck. Seen others buying about 8 cans total 4 primer 4 paint; did that get it done?
