Did you eat your all your vegetables too ..... "all by yourself "
Wonder why your sitting alone all by yourself ?????
There is your answer
Get over yourself and get back to the task at hand
Now that I have monstalined my truck I was able to get around to prepping my sliders. On Saturday I went through about 50 lbs of 40 grit aggregate getting the mill scale and surface rust that had accumulated cleaned up. I then applied two solid coats of zinc primer, two coats of flat black top coat and then two coats of rattle can bedliner. The sliders have traction when wet. I am really happy with how they came out, and they are easy to touch up when they kiss the rocks.
On Sunday afternoon I installed the passenger side first, definately can be done by one person, but it would have been much simpler with an extra set of hands. Fortunately I happen to have a pretty good trans jack that I used for the heavy lifting. I had no issues with the pinch weld that others have mentioned, but I was concerned that the radius arm drop brackets that are on my truck were going to get in the way of the forward most passenger mount. I ended up with 1/4" clearance...so no problems.
I thought I was home free, until I lined the, drivers side slider up, and realized that the front u bolt needs to pass directly through the drop bracket
I guess this means I am going to have to get slee arms or caster correction brackets that bolt onto the axle, rather than drop the frame mount like my current setup.
That's awesome. I'm waiting on mine. I did the same you did but on my grill and headlights but I baked mine in the house oven, lol. It actually worked very well and made the paint tuff with no problems
I have three dogs that hop in and out of the truck, a with petite feet and a little one on the way. I was worried that little feet and paws getting caught in the sliders, hence why I went for the full plate. happy that I did...now if only I could get the drivers side installed!!! You are right...these things are definitely brutes.
Since I finally got that PT spool in last weekend today I managed to get the IPOR skid plate mounted and since my nuts were SOOOO BIG I went ahead and did the OPOR sliders too, all by myself I might add.
Now tomorrow if I have any hope or chance of getting out of bed I will literally have to roll out and hope my feet can catch me!
