Been working on the other car a bit. We installed all the front suspension components except springs to start checking clearances for more ties between new frame rails and unibody

Picked this one up yesterday. Thanks to @fourtrax and a few others in the tundra section I had a fairly good list on what to look out for.
I need a truck for upcoming garden and home work and a DD (work from home most I do each day is drive to the gym unless going on inspection) and something I can go take on the 1,000 miles of fs roads through the cascades. It will also serve as broverland camping rig until the cruiser is done and can do more hardcore things.
High Miles but came with lots of maintenance records and the price I got the guy down to was just too good not to get it.
I think it's slightly lifted but not sure. Other mods are a t-max winch, the road armor bumper and magma flow exhaust.
Thing drives incredibly well for the mileage.
Only things it needs currently are front wheel bearings (already ordered), front seat redone, knock sensor harness, and the trim along the top of the tail gate.

@alk747triodad the color reminds me or Logan's Burple Honda

I sent my stock radiator off to Ron Davis Radiators and he sent this beautiful radiator back. Rubber mounts fit perfect on the sides. Fits perfect! Two huge Spal fans. I have been using Ron Davis radiators for years in all the swaps I do. In a Land Cruiser the fans turn off at 35MPH and keep temps down without issue.

Finalized the purchase of another p-car in need of rescue today. Was abandoned at work for about two years before I tracked the owner down.

Pic of most of the fleet, minus my 1/2 fj40 and Pablo the dumper.

EDIT: Fun fact, all of the vehicles in this pic are manual transmission!

Nice! Fix it and sell it to Sarah.

@GLTHFJ60 we’re going to need a full story!

That pic also looks like fall to me…maybe I’m just annoyed it’s still summer here.

I'll type it up at some point.

Not fall yet, I just discovered what a weed burner was, lol. Much better than mowing the gravel driveway!

Fair enough. Im going to pretend it’s like 58 degrees there with a bit of cool breeze!

Two of the best looking water cooled Porsches ever made. I'm interested to see which you prefer the 997 or 987.
Initial impressions of the 997 have me preferring the 987, but I know the 987 a lot better. We'll see as time goes on.

The 911 is Laura's new car. AWD 6-speed rear engine is pretty ideal.

I've actually never driven a 987...I'll need to add it to the list!

The 987 feels more like a true sports car to me where the 997 feels like a grand tour car unless you get a GTS or GT3 spec.

GT3 is hard to beat!

I've been watching the 996 4s and turbo prices on BAT recently and might have to spend some money soon...which will mean my yellow truck should be for sale in the near-ish future. Or buy something that is more track focused and keep all land cruiser for ever!

Do it! 997 4S and turbo prices aren't bad right now either, just saying.

At this point we should have just started a car swap group!

The ones I’ve seen sell on BAT have been 80-120k for 997 turbos unless they’re high mileage automatic examples. That’s about twice what I care to spend. I’m going to start looking on other marketplaces vs just BAT.

I do prefer the round headlights of the 997 over 996 but not a deciding factor at all.

If I were to choose between a 997 4s and a 996 turbo, I'd go 996 turbo. Both 997 and 996 turbos are Metzger engines believe, and awd, can't go wrong with either.

That being said, go sit in both cars. The interiors are a lot different. The exterior is similar enough and both are beautiful imo, but the interior is what *you* see. The 997 interior is leagues ahead of the 996 interior imo.

Interior might sway you away from 996 towards any 997.

Finally got back to working on the other car.
The last links connecting lower arm to the frame have been fitted and cut down. These arms are roughly 1/3 of the original length.
I mounted them set into the cross member to gain length. The are mounted at the angle prescribed in the instructions.
Operation is smooooooth.
