I bought a bus, 93 international Thomas bus, navistar dt360/ Allison at545. It's for a project. Hamom will be at Ryan's house some time this fall/winter.

Took 4 hours to drive it home from king, NC to Ryan's house in Raleigh, lol.

The DT360 didn't get to that high of a power rating from the factory AFAIK. This one is a 170hp version I believe. Similar to my 4BT that was a 105hp version, way depowered/underrated. I'm going to aim for ~400hp with what I'm going to do with it.

6.0 is just feeling not powerful enough for the weight of the motel anymore. Thought about a turbo upgrade, but long-term reliability is the big concern when stringing out a 6.0, at least in my eyes. The DT360 will be dead nuts reliable at ~400hp and probably knocking on the door of 1000ft/lbs.

You're right I could have sworn the DT360 was available from 175 HP to 375 versions, but just looked it up. Now I got to figure ou what engine I am thinking about lol.

Anyway im sure you saw this already, bit I just saw it when looking up the specs

Picked up the nicest reasonably priced 2500 suburban I could find. Shipped it from Portland. 2003 LT with the 6.0. It will be nice to be able to swap parts with my tow rig now. Completely stock and zero modifications.

Nice score! Who’d you use for transport? Would you recommend them?
The dealer that I bought it from arranged shipping for me. They picked it up on Monday and delivered Friday morning about 8:30. I’d recommend them but they had zero communication until Thursday night.

I got a Quigley 4x4 converted Chevy van to build into a mini camper! Nothing radical for off-roading, but I am confident it will get me down the kind of forest roads I would use for basecamp with the addition of some slightly bigger A/T tires. Interior build plans include a high top for standing height, a rear seat that folds down into a bed, auxiliary battery powered A/C, and a small kitchenette. No toilet or indoor shower for simplicity.

AI doesn't quite get the target build right (those look more like 33s than the smaller 265/75R16 I will probably put on), but this slop gives a basic idea of what I'm looking for:

And except for the wheels and the lack of off-road front bumper, this van roughly matches what I'm looking for. Also, I would probably put the bunk windows in the high top over the kitchenette, which would go right behind the driver's seat:

Picking up the 3500 this Monday to start the on road engine break in. The idle sounds good so far, we'll be doing a cat-back exhaust soon though since it's a little jank.

Stumbled into this one. A buddy of mine in Roanoke owns a shop/towing company. When I passed through to visit on my way to Creek Daze in August I noticed this Mini on his tow lot. Long story short, I went this past weekend to pick it up. I’m pretty stoked, especially given it was free.

It’s a 2006 Mini Cooper S JCW 6MT with 113k miles. It needs some love but my goal is to get it up and running. It’s a really nice car minus the fender dent and bad tint. The wife has laid claim to it so we’ll have to see how that shakes out. For now, my red trackday mini has a friend!

Figured I’d share the DD/street toy and the restoration project.

I was planning to kswap this with a Miata transmission…actually have like 90% of the parts to do so, but sadly, might be selling the car soon.

Ping me if you do sell that mgbgt

Thanks, it's a fun project. What I find interesting is this forum compared to Benzworld. Last couple posts I am cutting the rear fenders to graft in a front fender wheel arch. If I did something like that here on MUD there would be a dozen guys chiming in with questions, telling me how they would do it and generally just BSing about metal work in general. On Benzworld, a few likes from maybe the same dozen guys and zero comments.

Nice job, that looks factory. Oem+ type stuff.
