I love old houses but then again I have never lived in a really old one so I may be crazy. Amanda and I were driving around Southport last weekend. There are a ton of historic homes there and they all have little placards by the front doors that display the names of the family who built them and approximate build date. Amanda looked at me and said, " I want to live in a house that has a sign that says, "Circa-something."" There is just something about a home that has stood the test of time. We watch a lot of Barnwood Builders episodes. Old log homes especially just do it for me.

Congrats, Jamie. The place looks beautiful. Good luck with it.

I daresay it would provide unlimited energy and would be unstoppable! Wait, never mind, that was something I saw on the news.......

So @mtweller was in town last night. Picked him up from the triple door in the cruiser, was planning on taking him to Fremont Brewing in north seattle.

Stopped for some gas in Queen Anne. Went to start the truck again and SNAP

Friggen key just shattered (plastic part)

so now I have the metal key in the ignition and the plastic part now in two parts.

Luckily I had just put a small set of tools in Andrea's cruiser so I had some pliers to and could get the key part back out of the ignition and turn it.... bad part is the key needs to be making contact with the metal strip of the fob for it to actually start which was impossible to do with the pliers.

Finally managed to get it back together after about 10 minutes of taking my time and making sure it didn't break any more or damage the guts of the fob. Now the hard part was being able to hold all three parts together with enough force while turning the key (not much room to make a squeezing fist right there)
Did get it started up but drove straight home and Ramon, Andrea and I grabbed some beers at the local bar to my place instead.

New titanium key from YotaMD is being overnighted here since Andrea uses the cruiser for work. Big thanks to @suprarx7nut for going the extra mile on that one.

I would like to add to this, but in addition to being exceedingly pedantic,I am an hopeless obscurantist.

Winter storm winds are so strong I just saw Italy fly by the screen hitting Boston!

These last couple of days have been kind of crazy with a ton of stuff to do and work on. Saturday morning i drive to my yard to pick up my work truck and go to my first call. I saw from far away a pile of trash on the gate and was quite upset until i got to the gate. Somebody left some 40 parts in front of the gate “ i guess they thought i like LC “ i dont know why somebody will do that. So, i put them inside and texted a couple of people but no one knew anything about it. Well i was so exited with me new junk that i went to the wrong customers house. I showed up on Saturday to my monday appointment.
On monday i got a text from someone that i meet a couple of weeks back. Nothing to do with my new junk but he wanted to know if i was interested on buying his collection edition pearl 80, supercharged. It is not the best of the truck nor i stole it but i think i did fair considering what i negociated on the deal. Now i am the proud owner of a LC Collection Edition super charged and a pile of junk. Pictures to come.

I have a dump trailer. It is not rated for 10,000#. Can you make two trips?
Anyone have a tandem axle trailer I could borrow in the next week or two? Need to haul 10,000# of rubber mats

Prefer not, mats are in Morganton.
How are they gonna get moved onto your vehicle? Hand trucks, pallet jack, forklift? Is there a loading dock where they are now? What would you tow 10k# + trailer with? All important things to consider. I say Penske from Atlantic Storage on Monroe Rd for the win. Call me if you do it - I'll give you some pointers on not getting screwed, and avoiding the weigh station on 85.
