The word from my buddy at colonial pipeline ..... Gas Up!

Anyone ever traded an 80 series in to a dealership? I was checking out the local Toyota dealer site and plugged in my 80 for trade in (just for grins) and it said $5300-6400.....any idea of that is accurate? Seems high for a trade in for a 20 year old vehicle with 202k.

Buyers at a dealership are going to use black book to make a decision and that changes weekly for a vehicle as old as an 80 ghey are going to base it off of auction trends for alike vehicles it is really difficult to gauge the value unless you have access to black book or Barrett Jackson

Stealerships have several other tricks they pull and it is especially costly if you are planning on trading and don't know what they're up to. Most common is to take your $2000 trade and really impress you by saying they will give you $4000 for it. What they did was roll $2000 of markup on the new vehicle into your trade. It is always best to keep your trade out of the deal if possible.

I typically get them to the price I am comfortable with and don't even mention trades until that point....then I have my base and can see what they are actually offering.

I bought a Sequoia about 4 years ago....they were buying it from a lady...so I test drove it before they even bought it. I found the offer paperwork they gave her....it was in the console so I knew exactly what they had in it. It was the end of the month so I ended up getting it for barely over what they paid for it...haha.

I never bought a new vehicle where I did not walk away from the sales manager during the negotiation and let them come after me. It's worked well so far.

Just in case you are at a bar and in need of a pickup line.

It rains solid diamonds on Uranus

I'm trying to figure out how to work that into a conversation with my Wife. The only thing I can come up with is like most things from this board "You should have heard what @XYZ said on the board today!" :)

So yesterday, a call from an unknown number. Heavy Indian accent, proceeds to tell me that my computer is locked up and I won't be able to get to any of my data due to a "wirus".... Couldn't pronounce the V at all. He repeated it over and over again in a more threatening manner, "no thank you we already have wireless" made him so mad....After doing this back and forth at least 5 times, my voice sounding more and more like a confused old lady wondering why someone would be trying to sell us wireless, when we already have it, he gave up. It was fun listening to how frustrated he was getting - all because his natural dialect doesn't lend itself to accurately pronounce the letter V. If he wasn't an a****** scammer praying on weakness, I might have felt guilty making fun of his accent.

I used to do similar stuff like that in highschool.... had some great audio files at one point that we recorded.

Best was the pranks I used to pull on mormons when they came round.

Local cruiser guy stumbled upon this thing at a used car lot in town.... going to check it out this weekend.

I had a weird thing happen the other day. Similar situation - same BS trying to sell me something using fear tactics.

I said "Please put me on your Do Not Call List" after he had finished his initial BS and before I could finish "List" he had put me on some Ballywood/Indian music . . like on hold or something- - but you could tell he did it so that he got the point across he was not happy.

Unbelievable.

Scam Lives Matter

Just try "can you hold on for a moment".
Then put the phone down and continue whatever you were doing before you were interrupted.
pretty soon he will hang up and not call back.

Storage question:

I'm renting a 30x10 indoor and a 60x10 outdoor for various vehicles, boats, etc... I'm currently looking for a larger indoor warehouse type storage place to replace both. Ideally I'd like something 30x30 or bigger. Has to be within 15-20 mins of the Airport area in GSO. Anyone know anything like that? Or have any leads? Would be willing to subdivide (ie: share the space with someone)..
