@roadstr6 - it's not just college kids.

Last week I went to Vegas with my wife who was attending a conference for work. Jay Leno headlined their keynote speech and I managed to sneak my way into the conference to see him. He did his typically one liner bits about everything, from obesity to Trump to Hillary to Bush to Obama to helicopter parents to men to women. Nothing was very distasteful, just edging the line.

And my wife mentioned the conference got a lot of complaints about him. The average attendee was in their late 30s. Very sad indeed that we live in a time where people get too burthurt about things.

So true, I forgot why I had to delete all my jokes in the Daily Funny Pictures, sensibilities offended. I slipped, but deleted.

People are so much more thin skinned these days..........

I grew up in a time when the family gathered in the kitchen every evening and ate dinner. It was my father, mother, grandmother, sister and I. My father often told new jokes that he heard at work. Most of them were ethnic jokes about Italian, Polish, Black, Latino and WASPs. Even as a kid (6 or so) I realized that all my father's pals were Italian, Polish, Black, Latino and WASPs. They told the same jokes about each other, to each other and guess what. NOBODY GOT BUTT HURT!. Because they all knew it was just humor.

These days, it's like what was mentioned above about Jay Leno. I recall something Howard Stern said years ago about people, "They rave about me, love me when I am messing with people, yet the moment I even hit close to home with something I am the biggest dick on two feet"

Very true and very sad. Its not really a new thing but is getting worse and worse with how easy it is now to reach out to people through technology. Being born in Britain with British Parents and all my relatives being British I inherited a very self deprecating type of humor which people here always found very funny growing up. My best friends were also huge $h*t talkers and I got that too which for some reason some people I knew didn't find very funny as they didn't like the light turned on them. So for the most part my $h*t talking got turned down unless i'm very comfortable around the people near me, or i'm at a sporting event.... or i'm drunk LOL.

But anyway people are way too sensitive these days about these things. Nothing really offends me if it is meant as humor and that is how it should be. Hell most of the time I make fun of my own beliefs and thought processes. I think these three comic legends put a good spin on the subject.

It's that kind of PC crap that got the How Hot Is Your Chick thread deleted once @custyota Meatball posted a pic of himself.

Say what??? it got deleted? I think I was one of the original posters in that thread back in 06.

How Hot Is Your Chick

I will probably offend those who look like chickens, etc, but damn, slipped again

Izzy, your chick is a real bird. AL probably gets it :)

Been abroad enough to know that there's NO way they got all the customs folks to play along. But an awesome photoshop for sure.

@lt1fire thanks for that George Carlin and Stephen Fry links. George Carlin is one of my all time favorites. Saw him a couple times in late 70s early 80s. His approach of singular pure logic is what made his career.

I'll be sending it to my extreme liberal sister, she's an educator at a Jesuit HS level boarding school and an atheist herself. She came out of college and went right into teaching (waitress to eat in the early days). Now she is 61 an has morphed into Old Lady Owens and expresses her political views mixed in with the days teaching which is all based on what some professor that went to teaching straight out of college as well, for her 40 years ago.

I let you draw your own conclusions on the ironies set forth in the paragraph above :)

I would have to agree.... hell the canadian border guards really didn't want to stamp our passports because they didn't have to.... Andrea practically begged them to do it.

That is a pretty cool rover made out of the stamps though.

I have never been a broad, so can't help with it.

oh no, here I go again...

No, sadly I know Delores. We went to school together. She's got issues.

Sadly, this sight also lacks a levity font so I'll just say, if we can't laugh at opioids addiction what can we laugh at?

Can I introduce you to some friends and family members, who are surviving spouses/signifcant others/parents/children of opioid-based deaths? I also have a couple of cousins in prison for opioid abuse and resultant crimes to support their habit, they might get a chuckle too about addiction.

Hopefully the next funny meme will not be on cancer or suicide...

For context, my step father was a junky. Gotta laugh so you don't cry. RHSC. Out.

Don Rickles - no one like him. I re-watched his documentary the week after he died, "Mr Warmth." He is also readily available on YouTube.

Love this one - probably not his best, but a lot of pressure :)

Best place to watch fireworks in the Triangle?? Not a huge fan of huge crowds.
