Meaning $90 shirts ($125 if branded with a logo), $150 zip off pants, $25 socks, $40 coffee mugs, maybe a nice ascot? Well, maybe not the ascot.

Among other things, yes.o_O

No $200 chairs; clothing could be classified as shabby-expo-chic (plenty of shorts, regular tshirts, and sandals or your basic/worn shoes); Raincloud was the only one with a RTT otherwise it was hammocks, ground tents, or sleep in the vehicle; headwear was minimal (baseball caps or no caps; no scarves or ascots). We did talk about and drink beer and a few had some liquor, there was a wine conversation about sub-$15 bottles; but no-one was sniffing their liquor and commenting on the aged oak aroma imparted by 300 yr old Scottish casks or the subtle wisps of dingleberries harvested just prior to the annual Brnywlyzwich Festival.

All tools and gear were simple and functional as well.

In spite of not being exposexual, we survived!:beer:

AND JUST WHAT, MAY I ASK, IS WRONG WITH WEARING A DASHING ASCOT?!?!?!

I think if one keeps one's pinky finger extended whilst drinking morning coffee, much is forgiven. All bets are off at the Biltmore.

You have red hair Jim, you can get away with a lot, wearing skirts and such :)

Ah so there is a positive somewhere, then.

Leave me alone!

And we even had down to earth dudes driving Lexuses or is it Lexi....whatever the plural of Lexus is/are/should be????!!!!!!

Reminds me of a model T rear-end, but it's obviously not the same.

My guess is a 1940's "banjo" rear end. Looks like someone unbolted the yoke and bolted on that bar to prevent the axle from rotating:

Dang! Good call @GLTHFJ60
That looks just like it. I have a feeling that in the not so distant future we will scrap the trailer and I didn't know if the rear end would be worth saving. I'm not looking to sell it or anything but would gladly give it to someone else that had a use for it.

LOL! Very true Joe. I remember when I got my first cruiser everyone wanted to do a rock crawler build (including myself) Lots of talk about doublers, and stingers. Rigs with full exo cages and hardly anyone left a 40 stock. Now days it all about expo wheeling, just look at how many club URE events there are now versus 10 years ago when there was almost a monthly wheeling event there.

I thought we did a pretty good job of showing our wine and cheese side. I had 80$ rocking chairs. My overpriced 80 tent.

But the real ringer was sleso. He had enough overlanding camping gear for everyone. Crate upon crate of gear all neatly stored to the roof in that sweet hdj81. And Joe you were no slouch with your fancy coffee press and your chrome grill. And lets not forget no wine and cheese event would be complete without a hanging S&M chair in the background or a Swedish log.

Um, the Aeropress is ~$25 and used at home; the Ecoque was $50ish and is also used at home.

As far as the bondage chair, I saw you purring and scratching - meow!:flipoff2:

I am sitting here working on clearing my desk of paperwork just trying to wrap my head around the shootings in Dallas. 12 officers shot, 5 dead, 4 critical. What the hell is happening to our country? I understand that there is an issue with police in this country but what kind of mentality believes that shooting police from 2 snipers nests is any part of a solution?

Ironically, the Dallas PD has recently been held up as a model of a department that has taken the necessary reform steps to improve police-community relations.

I blame the drive-by media for fanning the flames. 90 percent of black shooting deaths are perpetrated by blacks. 90 percent of white shooting deaths are by whites. The huge majority of cops are good cops. The media takes a handful of rare examples that fit their agenda and drive them home over and over until we crack. Divide and conquer.

Facebook and other social media outlets are killing the unity in our country. We create our little "friend" social groups with like-minded individuals and we choose to only see what our "friends" post. This gives us the illusion that our ideas and our friends' ideas are relevant and represent the majority. We lose the big picture and retreat into our segmented worlds and lose sight of what's really happening in the world. Again, divide and conquer.

I'm starting a campaign to ban "elevated positions" and to require locks on every door that might allow access to said positions. And on a similar note, the word "tactical" will now be replaced with either 'uber dweeb marketing chump' or 'offered in black/tan/flat dark earth'.

I heard the news at 5:30 when I first got up for the kids Swim thing today. It was pretty raw at that point, but the words "AR-15", "at least 30 shots", and "high capacity magazines" were used prominently. I guess it's up to each media outlet to slightly massage and reword the talking points that they're given to appear objective.
