You are the man! Now to compare to a 60 lead and see what I get. Fingers crossed the 40 lead is longer.

Thanks to you, that resolves my question. The 40 series lead is 8.5" longer than the 60 series counterpart. Woo!

Glad to help the man who gave me air cleaner and engine bay envy.
Soo clean and sano.

Winding down on the final pieces that I’ve been hunting for. @devo provided the dizzy boot cover, which is what prompted the coil wire question.

The last remaining items I am hunting for are the 2F pcv bracket, 75-78 carb linkage bracket, and fuel cut solenoid bracket if anyone is holding? Circled in yellow below is the pcv bracket (Courtesy Joe_E) and solenoid bracket I’m looking for.

So my dive into the tool kit went further than anticipated. I wanted it to be like factory but with a few additions and artistic liberties since the bag style changed, so if we're talking Pebble Beach...no this isn't 100% original to February 1978, but it makes me happy enough.

As far as tools go, I ordered the full suite of what I could from Amayama along with a new bag. Instead of the plastic handle driver I grabbed the Vessel versions and added a hammer and 6 wrenches with KTC clip instead of the usual two wrenches and plastic clip.

The fun started with the tool bag mounts, since I couldn't locate a set that I enjoyed, I started with an L bracket reproduction from Heritage Cruisers. For the bag strap, I ordered two options (since I have a mint original cad clip) and two strap fastener options, both from Toyota Coasters. After seeing what vehicles used this style strap I jumped over to the Coasters and found they use the same tool kit design as the 40, up to 2022, with minor changes so I ordered both options and this is what I found.

The 2000s Toyota Coaster uses this style clamp which is by far the closest to the factory style.

Toyota switched over to this style later and it crosswalks to the USA market as a oil line bracket, so its cheap and accessible stateside. Here's a comparison of the two.

I went with the earlier design since it matches the most to original but I can definitely see the benefit of the redesign.

For bag bands, there's two sizes that I found that work, just depends on how big your toolkit is. I went with the strap on the left due to how full my bag is now. Left would be for a '79-'84 J4x. The right would be '76-'79. I ordered both because I wasn't sure how big I needed.

What took a month or so to assemble...went together in 5 minutes.

If folks want to use the easy stateside option, this is what it looks like short of the L bracket. DISREGARD PART NUMBER. I had the wrong bag underneath during photo. The correct number is above ; 58705-27010.

This is great work. Where'd you find the L shaped yellow crank handle thing for the jack extensions? I've got the jack and extensions but missing that piece. It's not still available is it?

I bought it from Heritage Cruisers ; here

If you actually are looking I can sell you the exact ones off my truck - I got lucky and found oem tool kit brackets that I couldn’t pass up.

@Goldbug the original cast jack handle is nla, there’s the stamped steel one that is available new so it depends how original you’d like to be. Stamped steel is correct for 79/80-83 I believe. The tool thread/parts fiche will tell you exactly if you’re so inclined.

Much appreciated. BTW, searched my three spare carbs and no solenoid brackets. Sorry.

More nitpicking…

Swapped the large flat head for the 100mm variant, received the air gauge and key fob. Now I don’t have to listen to my keys bang the clamshell.

Now a major piece for me…..original tool roll brackets in original plating. Thank you @hyhpe !

I’ve removed my old version, if anyone wants them let me know.

I also dropped a city racer mat and trimmed it all up to fit around the heater - turned out very nicely.

@Tank5 did a unique bumper modifying OEM for his 45 build. Thought it turned out great. Hope you are well Nate!

…… @OPMACHINE makes a really nice one
You’re right! That’s the best OTC option yet….sucks it costs more than the winch but that’s the way it goes…

CD! Driving my life away these days, you? One day we will share another beer on Imogene. The oem was my initial option until I saw @OPMACHINE ’s.
I believe @Skreddy modified an OEM bumper in his build for a Warn as well.
I’ll have to look - there’s the fella that sells the bumper reinforcement for the stock bumper but the HFS is so cheap I’m conflicted!

Great score on the Warn, took me a long time to find one “locally” and it wasn’t cheap!

Thinking back to your tool sojourn, did you come across an OEM wheel chock? This came with mine. It’s stamped “Made in Japan” and looks to be the right color but I haven’t really seen a similar one.

I have yes! Toyota still sells them though in black - many Japanese market cars come with a wheel chock I’ve noticed - my old skyline had a pair as well in yellow.

I’ll post the part number once I park

Nice. Mine is thoroughly mangled, and not super practical, but cool! The fact it collapses is cool.

Skyline eh??

Yep - dailied a gtr for a while only to sell prior to moving to California, which is when I bought my first cruiser. Found the tool kit photos of the chocks as well from that car. Wish I could fit them as is - which is why I have a pair of old Toyota tool boxes coming 😂

Here’s the chock part number:
