Ok Fellow 40's Mudders - I need your Help to make it happen .....

Ok so I have posted this in here as it is basically a 40's Issue and I need help with it.

As many of you would know we had some kick ass wild Fires over here in CA and a small place ironically called Paradise we hit pretty bad and a number of fellow mudders lost pretty much everything.

One such Mudder was @kevos37 who is a guy I have never met but I have enjoyed reading his Build thread and watching him help others out over the years.

Anyway I have a 77 FJ40 I picked up for a few parts and was going to send it to heaven when I thought it maybe a good start for someone. It was without front Diff as I had done a deal on it with another Mudder and was very ruff. FREE - FJ40 - 1977 Clear CA Title

It was however a Clear CA Title rust free chassis with a 2F block and 4 Speed. A few guys suggest Kevin may be interested and he was but moving it from San Diego to Paradise is a heck of a haul. So that got me thinking ....So I hit up the fellow mudder who was now the proud owner of the front diff and said hey want to donate it to a good cause ... he said yep and the plan was forming.

So the Plan .... I am thinking there are a lot of guys around these parts who have hoards and while they maybe tight and grumpy like myself they are kind at heart and will often kick in some parts for a good cause and to keep the Cruiser Karma ALIVE ... with that in mind I am thinking it should be possible to get the FJ40 to Paradise by simply getting a few guys involved who don't mind doing a few miles and have a trailer.

Then if we are going to do that ..... well we may as well dig into our hoards and try and make the old girl as complete as possible and meet up along the way to pack it in .

Have I completely lost my Marbles here ?

So far I have a rolling FJ 40 - 1977 with Clear CA Title . Has a 4 Speed Transmission and T-Case with a bare 2F block . rest if pretty much roached as it was an Orchard Car ... So I guess I need oh ... EVERYTHING ELSE .

Who is in to help with Parts or Hauling ?

In the next few weeks I might be heading north through the Central Valley, hitting I-5 west of Bakersfield, and ending up in Sacramento. I can donate a straight front bumper (needs to be blasted and painted/powder coated), bezel, and new rear "Toyota" badge. I won't have a trailer but could drop these parts off along the way for later pick-up. What's the timing look like, or is it too early?

Wow... I opened up MUD this morning and seen all this activity! Thats just Awesome!! I am stoked to get the opportunity to get going on another cruiser.

Because Paradise is such a mess (and that does not look like its going to change for a long long time). It looks like we may be relocating to Sutter, CA. The new residence will have a shop. I'm pretty sure this move is going to happen, but we all know how plans go.....

That would be sweet, I am sure we can find a mudder up that way who can sit on anything you drop off, I guess teh further North you can drop it the better.

We should be able to find a KOH guy from down San Diego Way who can pass it on to me. I am pretty sure my Shock Guy tunes a few KOH trucks so I will get onto him and get some names and numbers.

He mentioned he was looking to have something around May / April in another post so I was thinking about then . I have the Mexican 1000 end of April so will have to work around that so I am thinking Early May at this stage as I don't want it to be a PITA for him. I can store anything people donate until then without issue. I have a few 20' enclosed trailers perfect for the job.

The Time line at my end is driven by you, I can sit on and collect parts for as long as needed so that when it arrives you are ready for it and it isn't a PITA.

No need to thank me or others I watch people be ass hats on the internet all the time ( myself included ) so it is a nice change to use it for good as opposed to evil .

Sutter looks like it is 42 miles closer so your heading the right way
