At the risk sounding like I know what I am talking about....

PRICING - We try to price at wholesale so we don't lose money and so guys like Onur can put Ramen in the bowl.

I anticipate there will be plenty of Ramen to go around once these get installed on a couple of 80s...glad you and Onur are offering them.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes for your order to arrive and what your total price including shipping and duties comes to.

I already have a tracking number and drawing from past experience with ordering the Lokka, it took about 10-14 days from date of purchase to arrive in So. Cal. With regard to total price, I have no intention of posting that. I've wanted one of these since your thread started in April and hope this thread will nudge others off the ARB/TJM fence and into the Harrop. I can't find an unsatisfied owner of the Harrop anywhere in AUS. Unfortunately, there are little if any Toyota owners chiming in stateside...the intent of this thread is to change that a bit ;).

with the first, you are not helping the second ..

Well. I'm a Toyota owner and I have a Harrop E-Locker in the front of my rig.
And so far it's performed flawless.
Great instructions as well!!!!

I have one in the rear...A+, no problems after one year
Buy in the US, from @wardharris
Cheers

I have a relative that owns Colorado Toyota Specialists. They do good differential work. He put one on one of his own trucks and whatever Harrop source he has told him he can get him more if the need arises. He seems to be happy with it. I thought he talked to some dude in Australia about it, but I don't know if he has installed any on customers trucks yet, Harrop isn't really that well known yet. People can call the shop if they want one installed at 303-838-4772. Hopefully Im not wrong about all this as that conversation I had with him was some time ago. Personally I really like my air locker, and its staying where it is as I don't want to create any more work for myself. But I do wish it disengaged faster. I haven't asked him how fast the Harrop engages and disengages compared to the ARB. The ARB not disengaging real fast can be a pain sometimes. But my ARB is pretty old, so that may have something to do with it.

I have a rear ARB to throw in but like the elocker option better, it gets cold up here and airline moisture sucks.

One of the issues we've seen with the ARB units is that they don't like cold temps very much. The O-rings in the air collar seem to loose their sealing ability the colder it gets. That doesn't necessarily cause the locker to stop working but it will cause a constant air leak which will cause the compressor to cycle constantly or keep running continuously. And in turn you'll end up with gear oil in your air line which will come shooting out of the vent on the solenoid causing a mess.

I have a Harrop locker sitting on the shelf at Zuk's (Toyota Gear Installs) that will be going into my rear in January. I'll be doing a huge write up with a lot of pics.

Yep...mine's going to Zuk as well (wouldn't trust anyone else). I debated dropping the locker in the rear, but with the mostly positive reviews of the Aussie/Lokka in the rear of an 80, I figured a front application of the Harrop and rear Lokka was the most economic cost-performance ratio I could figure for 3X lockage at this time. As long as the Harrop works as advertised, there will be a day that the Lokka will get pulled/sold and both axles will run Harrops. Looking forward to your reviews!

Yeah that's the issue that worries me. I will be throwing in some temp rated o rings of a different material during the install.
That is assuming I do install it.

I talked to an industry insider the other day. A lot of racers at events like KOH run ARBs at pressures well above 200 psi without o-ring failures. But cold temps are another story.

do these things (electric locker) run like an open rear end when not engaged?

Absolutely. The vast majority of selectable lockers, including the Harrop E-Lockers, are in the open position when not activated so they perform like an open differential.

What are they looking after with more pressure .?

I mean if ARB said with 90 - 100 PSI you are locked .. why push more ?

I'm missing something .. ( sure I do .. )

They're worried about apply pressure and the unit possibly popping out of "locked" position. I've never experienced that issue but my rig isn't nearly as built as a modern 4400 car. My buggy competed and finished but by today's standards it's a Dynosaur.
