Yeah I like it too. They came out with it over the summer when I got my tags :)

Here are my two. A 1976 FJ40 waiting to be painted and (new to me Friday) a 1989 FJ62.

My new to me rig - '86 FJ60

Long time LC lurker here. One upon a time in the gogo 2000s I had a fully restored '76 International Scout II. A bit of a trailer queen but I loved it. I'll find a pic to upload later. Times got lean, some bad s*** went down had to sell her.

Fast forward to present and I've jumped back in the pool. This time I'm going to do what work I can myself and I'll keep a thread on the transformation. For now, until I unlock my noob status, enjoy.

p.s. - Hat Tip to tmorris1076 the PO.

Beautiful truck man, good buy. White is the best color :D

Forgot to put a little detail of the starting point:
BDS 3" lift with 35" BFGMTs 15" rims.
front ARB w/KC hi lighters
Aussie grab bar & inclinometer
Smittybuilt center console
FJ62 side mirrors
Pretty sure its been de-smogged

Welcome to my little brother and now family cruiser-head!

Hey everybody,

I'm Sean, and have been a member (I think I'm actually lifetime member ;)) for 6+yrs, but haven't participated much. We got busy with a farm/house renovation in late '09 that went awry. Unfortunately, 2 of my trucks got neglected - '75 FJ40 and '77 FJ55 (the 55 is for sale - PM me if interested). I recently have been making a few upgrades to my '03 Taco - new wheels/rims, spacers, OME left, Addicted Off-Road tubed front bumper, CBI Bushmaster swing out tire carrier. I have a few items to do on the Taco (lights, skid plates, antennas, etc), then will focus on getting my 40 back up to snuff.

My job as pilot at FedEx makes planning for the future almost a month to month proposition and family stuff at home gets top priority, so its been tough to be more active, but I'm going to try to make the effort. The last event I attended was the trip to Hatteras a few yrs ago. I hope to make Logan's Run in Sept. We'll see. :)

Here's my Taco today

All loaded up for Hatteras, with Mini Me (for sale for $100 - needs to be cleaned up and rewired).! :)

And at Cruise Moab '09, where I was, unfortunately, the Eight Ball Award winner that year, and featured in a Sept/Oct '09 Toyota Trails article later that year by Brian Koerner, bastard! ;)

Welcome back Sean.

Looking forward to meeting you at Logan's Run.

Aren't you in the Southern pines area? Love the VT sticker too!
We need more Hokies in this club...

Welcome back Sean. Looking forward to seeing that 40 in person. Looks sweet.

I've had it listed in MUD for sale in the past. I've had a couple inquiries via PM tis week. Here is what I wrote to them.

Paid $6000 for it 5 yrs ago. Its in pretty good shape. All the work on it was done by Brian Koerner. He always drove it to the trail from Va. - whether to Tellico or Rausch,or wherever, and wheeled the crap out of it. He bought it out in Wyoming and brought it out east when he moved to Va. when he finished school.

When I bought it from Brian, it easily passed inspection, and was very road friendly. He had it registered. I have not registered it here since I've had it, but would run it regularly and take a spin around the farm and the area here every couple months.

Its pretty much in the same condition, except I haven't turned it over in 2 yrs and some of the marine paint Brian used (yellow/white over red) is starting to chip away (And the typical surface dirt from sitting a couple winters. I'm sure fuel lines need to be drained and cleaned. Purred like a kitten when it last ran though. Stock motor with SM465 tranny. Like anything that has sat for awhile, would probably need all new fluids and a tune up. I Just put a new battery in, but needs a new cable/terminal. Its got a broken windshield, but I have a replacement and new ceiling cover as well as a few other parts and trim pieces. It sits on some old 36" TSLs, of which, all hold air for "some" period of time. Some periods are shorter than others. :) Could use some new shoes! It also has swing out tire carrier that Brian built, and rear window motor worked last time I had a good battery. I have a set of 4 used 36" TSLs that have plenty of tread from my FJ-40, but they are about 10 yrs old. I plan to take them to my tire shop to check on if they have any life left, if so, we can work something out if you're interested. I also have an unused 36" TSL that was a spare for my FJ-40.

I'd like to get $5K, but will consider offers.

I had some pictures in a MobileMe gallery, but that went away with iCloud. I'm trying to recreate an online album for pics.

Oh, that's BK's old pig? I remember seeing that thing wheel at CMCC in 2009! Super clean and very effective on the trail. Definitely a good buy for whoever wants a turnkey offroad capable FJ55.

Nice trucks, Sean! I feel like I might recognize your green Tacoma - you mentioned you fly for FEDEX - do you fly out of the RDU airport? I have seen a green Tacoma out there a couple times with a snorkel on it.

Yep, usually parked in the FedEx lot at RDU when I'm flying (sometimes I use GSO). In fact, inbound right now to RDU to catch a ride to Memphis for 3 days of Ground School/Simulator Training. Be Back Sun evening when I operate the flight into RDU - then 2 nights at home, on the clock. ;)

Gotcha. I'm an RDU tower + approach controller, I'm sure I've talked to you before, then.

Well, if you're working this Sun evening, that'll be me in FDX785, about 615pm :)

I'm working a double on Sunday, one early morning, and then again at 10.30pm. Driving home from work this morning at about 6.30, I saw your truck parked out there. We will catch up, maybe get a beer at Alehouse or Trali or somethin'. I'm Adrian. Drop me a line any time.
