wow wish I had 5k...

I never did post anything on here, so here are my rigs.

I bought this FZJ80 bone stock in 2005 with about 120K and in good shape... I'm approaching 300K and don't envision a future without her!

Last year, I bought this 100 from a fellow Mud member that was looking to upgrade to a 200 Series. It's in great shape and is my current DD.

And finally (I will spare you the pictures of my wife's Venza), I bought this 40 from a friend in Texas. It runs and drives very well, but like everyone already knows, these things require plenty of upkeep. The rust situation isn't too bad. I'm not in a rush to get things done since she runs just fine, but I'll eventually blast and paint the frame, repaint the body, and rebuild the engine. I'm currently trying to figure out the suspension situation - looks like she has a 2.5 inch OME lift and reversed 3 inch shackles with welded plates; but I don't know if the PO accounted for everything else that goes along with such an aggressive lift (for instance, the shocks were too short and completely extended and it has stock driveshafts).

Although I have paid the club dues, I have not been through the hazing or testing process yet, but here is a picture of my two vehicles. I have also owned a FJ62 and two 2002 4runners, previously.

So are you going to keep the 1985 4Runner? I hope to see it, it looks awesome!

Right now, unless someone came along and gave me $7200 in cash, the plan would be to ship it and drive it as my second vehicle and trail vehicle. I would get an older Corolla or Matrix or Prius for the drive to work. I also have to do something with the '04.

Its just a lot of $$ to have a $7K trail rig, a $14K tow rig, and a $4K trailer, or . . .

$10K buys a pretty nice 80 - just drive it to the trail and forget about towing the 85, etc.

One man's junk is another man's treasure?

My junk is my treasure. Please don't treasure my junk.

I see what you did there.

Heather's 80, the bumper is done for now, need to hook up power for the winch. 2.5" lift with leveling spacer for the front is next up. I have the RHD lower arm for doing the Y-link steering as well. Just investigating if offset TREs for the Y link will prevent a roll in the link that is common.

Happy freedom day! Interested to hear Pops' reply on the 80 ;-)

i'd call it on loan, yeah, that's it , its on loan... oh well, what's the difference, i don't get to drive it anymore any how. :( maybe i should start looking for another .. and i bet that about time i get it built, I'll be loaning that one out to Garrett..

Any How, I am extremely proud of Hannah and I know she will be safe driving the 80.

Congrats and condolences :D

Congrats Hanna, Heather says you'll fit right in the "girls with cruisers" group in the cub.

Perfect time for another Cruiser Eric
