1974 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser
for anyone looking....man that dude loves him some Diamond plate.
You guys are killing me! This is not a done deal by any stretch. I did find an LX on Charlotte CL and I have expressed interest. The CL ad has been taken down. It was only up for a week or so. Owner did not include the words"Land Cruiser" in the post so unless you specifically searched for LX450, it flew under your radar. The truck is not locked so it's hard for me to get real excited about it. It is pretty dang clean though. 188K miles. Southern truck. I'll post up more if I end up with the truck but here's a few teaser pics:

If I buy it I may end up flipping it. I'll just have to see what happens.
whats the spots of white crap around the radiator and the spray pattern of something hitting the fan?
Our LX doesn't have lockers either. But the Aussie in the 80 has been real good to me. So go on and get excited Dave. lolFlipping is preferred to rolling here.
Oh and Aussie locker.![]()
I would be more concerned with what looks like a leak from a crack on the radiator.
I plan to investigate the spooge on the fan shroud and air box (I'll wear latex gloves). It looks like dried Toyota pink coolant to me but at the time I took the pic I did not have time to check it out much. I had fully intended to pass on this. I waited a few days and played the lowball game and the owner called my bluff. I plan to drive it for a day and give a good assessment before I pull the trigger. I will say that it is being daily driven right now, in fact I passed it going the opposite direction at lunch time on S. Tryon St today. It's a good 20 footer. Up close it is far from perfect. Owner says that it was involved in an accident in '97. The passenger front fender and door were painted. The paint match may have been fine 20 years ago but now it is not great.
You've seen the pictures. What would you 80 series experts expect to pay for a truck in this condition? I'm thinking $5K.
No apology needed my friend. thoughts and prayers for you and your family.I am passing on that truck. Bad timing for me. My Dad is very sick and we put him in Hospice care last night. I don't need something else to stress over right now. Gonna let that one pass me by. Sorry for the tease and subsequent let down. Sometimes that's just life.
