Anybody want a FREE one-owner '84 2WD Suburban? The truck is located in Matthews, NC. It belongs to a friend of mine. The truck suffered major engine damage last week and is in need of a heart transplant. I'm not sure what exactly happened. My friend is not a mechanically inclined person so he couldn't say. He had it towed to a shop and they told him it was a major, metal on metal engine failure (whatever that means).

I have not seen the truck in several years. It has spent it's life in the Charlotte area. From the pic it looks like there may be some rust under the rear PS door...or it could just be crud. Who knows? It was a kid hauler back in the day and I've ridden in it many times with his family but that was years ago. It's a land yacht and would be a great truck for a handy-man to work out of or for a tow vehicle or maybe for roadside car camping. SBC engine would be cheap and easy to replace. PM me if you are interested and I'll put you in touch with the owner.

OH! And while we are in there, I've got a new cam sitting in the parts drawer that is just PERFECT for this application. :bounce2::steer::bounce2:

You guys im lucky i dont currently have the time and or energy for this one (as i hover over send button to dave)

Most of the world seems to think cam no bueno for tbi .... but i hear Al has a secret TBI performance recipe..... but that might cost more than a junkyard 5.3 then again johnny might have his deisel swap done by the time im ready freeing up a 4bt core (unless he melts it). So many choices for an indecisive guy :D

Not really secret, but I sold all those parts already. Cams are fine for this as long as you get a new chip burned for it. But you are very correct that a junkyard 5.3 is cheaper than the parts.

TBIchips.com is where my friend got all his tbi recipes and also a great place for the chips.

Is the Van TBI?

Cam the Tinkerbell motor and pull the intake and carb from the suburban motor. It has to come off anyway to put in the cam. We got this man!

:D

Where will i put my new sticker though?

"Living in a SUBURBAN down by the RIVER" may not sound the same .... but the rust factor appears to be much better.

I wish I understand like half of what is going on in the last ~7 posts. I don't think I want to Google any of that, though :)

1994 land cruiser for parts

Going to look at it tomorrow. I asked him to take the ad down. Tons of new-ish parts. 2" King suspension (less than 5k miles), new rotors and calipers, new battery. He had several people contact him but was hesitant to sell it as a daily driver....and said he wanted to sell it to someone that kind of knew what they were getting. No title.

Edit: after speaking with him again...it is titled in NC under his name...so he is going to file for a duplicate.

Thanks @weejub
