FYI. I found these LED work lights on clearance at Lowes today. I've had a pair of each for 4-5 months and have been very happy. The smaller one even comes with a 12vDC plug for the car. I was able to bolt the big ones onto the old halogen tree I already had - the captive nut on the light base was the same thread as the tree's bolt.

Not at home but will find out in about an hour.
Looks like the 8" console. Car stereos are a bit over 7" wide.
If it's not 6.5" then I pass and it's on to the next person!
