John does a great job in relating what our club is about to the rest of the TLCA. Many of the suppliers and other Cruiser heads I speak with through work mention our club and wish they had a similar club in their area. Thanks for what you do John :)

Wrong thread, Stan...but I agree 100%

@tgadd, Not trying to stick my nose in your business but you might want to ask @jamesurq if the rim is riveted or welded. You will not be able to use a riveted rim with disc brakes. FWIW, James' truck would have originally had riveted wheels. This one could be either. He will have to confirm this for you.

I'd just hate to see you mount a tire on a riveted wheel with the thought that it would be 100 percent useable. The rivets won't clear your front brake calipers. I suppose you could keep a riveted wheel as a spare to use in the rear (drums) but if you had a front flat you'd have to move a rear wheel to the front and then use the riveted wheel in the rear. That's a lot to do on the side of the road.

Sorry to rain on anybody's parade. Just trying to keep it real up in here!

No worries. These are things I don't know about. I had seen the riveted and welded rim descriptions before and didn't know what that implied. Thanks for the clarification.

Behind on coffee this morning Dave :) But hey, the dogs, cat and horses are fed and watered and there is a fire started in the shop stove. I am sitting here working on an inventory program trying to get a grasp of what I actually have in stock in the shop and all in one place. Kinda scary when I started adding the dollar figures to each item stocked.

Theres a chance I'll be goin to charlotte tomorrow. What part of town would the wheels be in? I may have to rent a umaul trailer to bring back the stuff im picking up, so I may have room for Rice's wheels/tires. Joyridaz, what part of town would you be in in the afternoon tomorrow?

I may be able to help with the trailer dept depending on what you need to move. Awesome if that can include some tires/wheels. PM me.

Still looking for a two groove crankshaft pulley for a 2F engine. Needed for a power steering installation.

Try Georg at Valley Hybrids. He just came out with a Saginaw pump set up. I do not know if he uses a two pulley set up but it is worth a shot.

George might still be out of town and not checking here often. I texted him about this so hopefully he'll reply soon. South Charlotte between Southpark and Ballantyne is his place.

Let me know if you're able to grab lunch in CLT somewhere Wednesday.

If I'm able to go, ive got to deliver a couple of RC Sailboats down in Matthews, then head up to Ikea to bring back a bunch of stuff for my lovely wife. I'd probably leave GSO after the morning rush hour, get down there about 1030 or so, be done around 12 at the lake. What part of CLT are you around John?

In that you're saving me gas money I can help you with the trailer rental $$ or at least make a :beer::beer:contribution.

I'd love to do lunch tomorrow with y'all if you settle on a place and time. Keep me posted.

@Rice
If nothing works out today, I can maybe grab them tomorrow and get them to Salisbury, so it would be less of a drive. Would need to get them on Thursday as I am not in Charlotte this Friday.
Shane

Edit Or anytime after the weekend I will be back and forth everyday.

I have some sweet tater muffin mix for mr Vee as well if in all this jockeying between here and there presents an opportunity. Also may have empty trailer for loan if needed

I'm pickin up a trailer at 8am and headin south on 85. Jason, I can meet you off of exit 111, if that works for you. I'll be down around matthews until 1130 or 12. Eventually, I need to get up to ikea and load up the trailer with the wife's stuff, and head home. I figure the tires can go on top of the boxes. I can either drop the tires at Rice's house (would need directions and phone #), or offload them at my house. I've gotta have the trailer back about 8 am on Thurs.

For Free!! I got it for free from @mtweller and I'm now passing it on. Works wonderfully. Used it to bore some 1 1/4" wide holes in 3/8" plate and it was great. Missing depth stop and laser.
