This is getting ridiculous. Hopped in the truck today, needed to make a Lowes run. Got about 5 miles up the road, heat going, and the odor of musty mouse nest hit me. Got home and opened the CAF access door. Dammit.

Got it all cleaned out, I guess I'll have to remember to set the damper to Recirc from now on when in the garage.

This is getting serious, I've never had mice like this in the past. Ultrasonic devices, moth balls, dryer sheets... nothing is working. I have a bucket trap out there now and I get about one a day. Need to step it up.

Let’s see the bucket trap set up.

It's just a bucket 1/3 full of water, sunflower seeds on the water, and a wooden ramp. I'm gonna add a "log roll" device across the water with PB bait, I think it will make it more effective.

This is the one and only reason I don’t have it out with the neighborhood cat lady who feeds the strays. I see them crossing my yard daily, they may take a bird from my feeder but that’s because they have already gotten the mice that are easier for them to catch.

My brother tells me "you need a cat". No, I'll never need a cat. I hate cats. Cats won't live in the garage where the mice are, so that's not a solution. We don't have strays wandering around here, I'm kinda out in the woods.

So, it took me about 2 minutes to come up with this:

Used an insulation support wire and a plastic bottle I found in the recycling bin. Piece of wood from the scrap pile.

Die, ya little bastids...

Those traps are super effective. I've used the same, but with a soda/beer can in the past, and it worked well. RV antifreeze is a good addition if things get cold in your area.

Dude. I would go all out with poison bait stations. You need them to eat the bait not your wiring harness. I don't mess around with rodents, they will chew through plastic in minutes.

One of our mud members pointed out this tool to help with pulling tight hoses, like fuel lines. Today I used it to help me disassemble the carburetor on my pressure washer, which I then used to pressure wash the cruiser’s wheels.

Keeps coming in handy, thanx to whoever to it was!

Can you guys recommend a multi-use power tool that would be good for things like trimming some of the fending for bigger tires, or could do some small grinding or sanding? Looking for one tool that would be flexible for not only small car stuff but home too, ie notch out some wood with the appropriate bit. Would a Dremel rotary multi-tool fit the bill?

I have a Dremel rotary tool that comes in handy for some smaller stuff. What about an oscillating multi tool? I have a corded Porter cable, but there are lots of brands, corded and cordless.

I have this along with just about every other tool in the line. Works amazingly well around the house. haven't used it on the cruiser.

EVERYBODY needs to have a oscillating multi-tool in their shop. They are SUPER handy, I have 2 of them, one corded (Rockwell, old one), and a cordless (Makita). I use the cordless one all the time, very useful for renovation work. They're not great at sanding, maybe for something small and quick, but for making surgical cuts, they can't be beat.

Every tool manufacturer makes them now, just pick your favorite brand, or whatever you already have for batteries.

If you don't have one, better get on the horn to Santa and get it on his list!

Quick Question. I know oiled filters are a no go for really any car out there. Anyone running the AEM Oil less filter? So far the only one I have came across is Cruiser Outfitter Race truck.

Showed my wife this, she asked about our truck's value. I looked it up on KBB today and they say average trade-in for my 2020 HE is worth slightly more than I paid for it. The average private party value is about $3K more than I paid. We found the same thing happened when we traded in a 2014 FJ Cruiser for a 2017 LC.

I'm not selling and she didn't want to either, we were just curious to see if the same phenomenon would happen as did for the FJ.

It will be interesting to see if/how far back in time this effect will apply to other model years.

I am willing to bet that the LC 200 Series in general and most notably the 2016+ LC 200 Series will begin to appreciate later this year. I know when I sold my 2012 FJC Trails Team in 2015 I got $8K over book for it from a private party. Had I kept it another two or more years I likely could have gotten another $5-8K more on top of that. It's crazy how these things are valued.
