Forum members are always posting up pics of their 200 at some western state mountain pass, usually above the tree line, etc.

I thought maybe it was time to do some Florida representing. So, the pic below is from a mini-road trip to Everglades NP the wife and I took for her birthday today.

The 200 had absolutely zero issues with the climb up, or the descent on the other side of the pass.

Ha!
That’s a pretty funny sign. :)

I changed auto insurance relatively recently.

I (stupidly) never cross checked the title VIN against the insurance card. With the new insurance I had to go into the DMV to prove insurance in order to renew the plate. They found the insurance company used some VIN that belonged to someone else's vehicle (not a transposition error, etc.).

The woman in the DMV was most sympathetic and was nice enough to issue the plates with a stern warning to get it (my insurance card) fixed -- or else.

If you are like me, you might want to check for matching numbers.

Last night I was parallel parked downtown and was checking emails before getting out of the LC. A UPS guy with a dolly completely loaded of packages walked up to my window looking like he was going to pound on the glass, so I rolled it down expecting to find out I was blocking him in or something. He excitedly said "What kind of truck is this?!? It looks like a 4Runner on steroids I love it! I have a 4Runner and I wished mine looked this cool!". Typically I get annoyed when people say the LC looks like a 4runner, but this guy was so enthusiastic and asked so many questions I had to laugh and had a good time chatting with him.

Interestingly, I almost never got looks, waves, compliments, etc. in my fully built 2014 LC, but there's something about the 16 LC that gets compliments all the time. I think Toyota finally made the front end aggressive and bold enough to stand out and look (close) to how expensive it is. It's one of the reasons I'd like to keep it as stock looking as possible because I think it's far more recognizable as a Cruiser that way. It was a very jovial interaction, and I think now he'll be able to spot a 200 with ease :D

I got a funny Q the other day...

“What model JEEP is that?””

I kid you not!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL!

Russian 2016+ LX action. check out their answer to the absurdly low front end......
LX starts at the 4 minute mark

I'm surprisingly impressed by the Touareg. Or really the Touareg driver. Whoever is driving the Lexus seems to keep taking the worst lines

I had a V8 Touareg for 5 years - took it to Ouray a couple of times with other Touareg owners and was very impressed with its off-road capabilities. The adjustable height suspension was very capable and reliable. Other systems were not so reliable, however. Of course, unless one enjoys looking at a real light show of warning lights, it is necessary to stop every 15 minutes or so to stop the car and (hopefully) reset the warnings. No matter what version of the eBahn software I used to diagnose and (supposedly) fix the false warnings, and no matter how many times I brought it to the dealer with the dash lit up like a Christmas tree, the problem was never solved. Each spark plug had its own ignition coil and during my time of ownership I had to replace all 8 coils 4 separate times - 3 times under warranty and once on my own. For some reason, VW kept upgrading the Part# for the coils in the hope it would solve elusive engine missing problems - it didn't. So ... I traded it in on a 2010 Sequoia - which lasted 2 years until I realized I really couldn't live happily without another (after my 40, 80 and 100) Land Cruiser and got my 2013LC.

And I agree, the LX driver was an idiot in that video.

And here is the same one with new bumper installed

I kinda like that bumper because it's relatively light and functional.

Will just leave this....

Truck is spending the weekend at Main Line Overland, having the RLC rear bumper and OEM front spacers installed. Wow they have some amazing rigs there.
