A Lust for Dust in the Deserts of Utah - Part II of III - SW Off Road

Forum members are always posting up pics of their 200 at some western state mountain pass, usually above the tree line, etc.
I thought maybe it was time to do some Florida representing. So, the pic below is from a mini-road trip to Everglades NP the wife and I took for her birthday today.

The 200 had absolutely zero issues with the climb up, or the descent on the other side of the pass.
Last night I was parallel parked downtown and was checking emails before getting out of the LC. A UPS guy with a dolly completely loaded of packages walked up to my window looking like he was going to pound on the glass, so I rolled it down expecting to find out I was blocking him in or something. He excitedly said "What kind of truck is this?!? It looks like a 4Runner on steroids I love it! I have a 4Runner and I wished mine looked this cool!". Typically I get annoyed when people say the LC looks like a 4runner, but this guy was so enthusiastic and asked so many questions I had to laugh and had a good time chatting with him.
Interestingly, I almost never got looks, waves, compliments, etc. in my fully built 2014 LC, but there's something about the 16 LC that gets compliments all the time. I think Toyota finally made the front end aggressive and bold enough to stand out and look (close) to how expensive it is. It's one of the reasons I'd like to keep it as stock looking as possible because I think it's far more recognizable as a Cruiser that way. It was a very jovial interaction, and I think now he'll be able to spot a 200 with ease![]()
Russian 2016+ LX action. check out their answer to the absurdly low front end......
LX starts at the 4 minute mark
I'm surprisingly impressed by the Touareg. Or really the Touareg driver. Whoever is driving the Lexus seems to keep taking the worst lines
