I need to have my windshield replaced. I am not sure if State Farm will replace with OEM. Has anyone gone with after market windshield? If so, what are your thoughts?

Thanks!

They will. They did with mine. But you have to be prescriptive about it with your agent, then ensure the installer knows specifically what to do. Won't get into that, PLENTY of info on the subject with a search.

I had a Fuyao put in my 07 LX after I bought it from the original owner in 2021. My installer told me he looked at 3 different pieces of glass before he found one that met his "standards".

Now that I have a chip in my Fuyao I was going to see if my insurance (Travelers) would do OEM, just because.

No complaints with the Fuyao. But I have no reference point comparison to OEM as far as clarity / sound deadening.

Replaced mine last fall with aftermarket. Receipt shows part # FW2074. $190.

Unfortunately at sometime in its past life, adhesive was used to re-install the windshield mouldings, instead of rivets, so they couldn't be removed without damage. So that necessitated two new mouldings ($$).

TL;DR make sure installer uses rivets, not adhesive, regardless of which windshield is installed.

State Farm has replaced mine twice with 100% Toyota parts. Bill was $1300 or so.
I was quoted 640$ for OEM glass in Pennsylvania. Appointment for 8/4.

How was your so high. Do prices vary based on location ?

I've had my LC windshield replaced twice now, both aftermarket, can't tell a difference between them and OEM. But the trick is to find an installer that knows what they're doing.

Do you have the glass part number for your replacement? I am in the same position and was quoted the $900 price for just the glass. I have bronze tint in mine and would prefer to keep the western movie vibe going vs getting color of some kind - the version I was quoted for is not bronze. Here is what I’m looking to get installed:

It was $683 for just the glass, all moldings were also replaced. Total with Labor was $1353.98

I want to update this thread. I went through the trouble to request and get OE Toyota Glass and it randomly cracked on the highway. I don't know it's really worth the trouble unless the insurance company will cover it.

Currently fighting with my insurance now about this. Quote from Lexus body shop was $2700. State Farm uses a third party to handle all glass claims. They said they’d give me $136 😂. My agent is going to fight for me to get the proper amount. Not settling for less than OEM done at a proper shop.
