My wife ordered some fancy kids jacket from europe that doofed me today.

My bracket/mount/whatever arrives tomorrow. :banghead:

Alrighty - so two things of concern:

Need to reuse your original screw (or order one from wits end). Which I wasn’t ready for.

However I am concerned about how this mirror is going to be held in against the glass. Seems like zero tension in the screw “tunnel” like the OEM one, but it’s definitely the right base. I have a replacement screw coming from wits end and will arrive Friday.

Went by ace hardware this morning to see if I could Jerry rig the right screw. It works okay , but I think I need the right screw to apply the right amount of tension onto the mount.

I receive the OEM style screw from wits end for a final test this Friday night. If that doesn’t solve the bit of shaking and little bit of looseness, the right depth 3M auto tape will solve it.

Pretty stoked. Video to follow …

Where did you mount the actual rearview camera?

Haven't done this yet, trying to explore what I can place under the 3rd brake light to mount it up there.

What I really want is to mount this w/ the camera hook up in place of my 3rd brake light .. would be the ultimate setup in my opinion.

Here is test drive video. This has a ground down angled tip that I had the ace hardware guy do for me .. definitely not a great fit. 3M auto tape helped a ton though from preventing unnecessary rattle when hitting bumps/dips.

Wits End hasn’t shipped my screws yet (I bought two in case I need to try and modify one) .. which is a bummer .. but I guess my expectations are too high with Amazon ruining it for everyone. I did select faster shipping, so hopefully once those screws get packed up they get here fast.

I have been rolling around with the 3M tape and incorrect screws. The setup is working perfectly.

I do receive (per USPS) wits' end screws today, so I'll probably swap them out and see how it works there.

Plan to wire two cameras this week, one at OEM license plate and one on the roof lid w/ 3M tape.

OEM license plate will trigger with reverse wire to my aftermarket Pioneer HU, the roof lid will run to the rear view camera and will always be powered on.

I need to run wiring for two roof side flood lights, so I'll be doing that wire pull at the same time sometime this week. I'll post an update after I get everything up and running.

Received the wits end mirror screw.

Happy to report, this is it. #129 adapter from whichever vendor overseas with a new screw. Zero wobble. Perfect fit.

Thrilled!

Awesome! Glad to know this will work for my setup also. Hopefully my adapter will be here by the end of the week. Let us know where you end up mounting your camera. I'm thinking I'll do mine above the license plate using a license plate camera mount.

I am planning to do two: one for my aftermarket headunit at center of license plate mount and the rear view mirror will go on my rack (until it moves to my Alu-Cab RTT)

Received my mount as well. Though the ebay listing said it was coming from China, the mailing address was from Ohio. Still took awhile though. I attached several pictures from the install in my LX470. I also included the side by side of the Wolfbox Toyota mount that would not work. Overall much better than strapping it to the OEM mirror, looks much cleaner. Now just need to hide the power wire

I hardwired mine to my driver side fuse box (to the left of the pedal box)
