I just got regular garden variety washers, didn't get yellow dichromate. Wish I had but didn't know the part #. But they were extremely reasonable tin cost.

If you can get me part #s on this stuff I can get pricing.

later. Off to watch basketball!

Bolt Size??

Maybe it's in here somewhere but I'm too lazy to read it all. What is the size of the bolts that mount the transmission to the bellhousing on a 40/55 4-speed?

Thanks

What size nut holds the shock bolt or stud on the upper end of the shock tower on a 78 40 Thanks

Just Spoke with Kevin - he was waiting for prices and has several quotes that should be going out "shortly"..........
I will post info here when it arrives.

Anyone heard back from Kevin@BoltExpo.com yet? I guess I'll drop him another email tomorrow. Worse case, I'll just go thru a local fastener co.

Coolerman, would it be possible to send a copy of the latestspeed sheet to david@llmechanical.com Your time on this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Dave

Helps to have a friend that works at Parker Hannifin in Southern Calif. It's really nice being able to replace the OEM hardware with aircraft hardware for the price of cold beer!

Wow, all these people wanting to buy from this guy and he doesn't respond? :) He must be having the kind of month I have been having! :D

I have been super busy traveling for my company, got sick on a trip, then the :princess: got sick, and just to put the icing on the cake, had a basement flood from the 4" rain we got (Cruiser parts are all OK ;))

Therefore I have not had a chance to work much on the Cruiser let alone order parts.

I sent out all the spreadsheet requests and someone graciously posted the docs on Google Docs (THANKS!)

Merbesfield, you never answered my question, did you get all the parts you listed above for $250?

I've been trying to have a local distributor fill the list Merbesfield had done. Tacoma Screw is a big outfit here in Western WA. They told me that they have an account with Auveco but could no longer get all the items in the catalog. I can get just about everything in Zinc but not yellow zinc. Maybe this Kevin is running into the same problem.

So I have a couple contacts in China. I'm sure they could find me a bolt manufacturer to make these.

My question is what to ask for.

What does 8.8 mean?

What is the diff between Sims and JIS? Never mind I figured it out. Has to do with head size.

Is there specifically something I should ask for?

If I go through all this trouble I want it to be the right bolt.

Kevin responded to my email this morning just a few minutes after sending my follow-up. He is working on it. Should have something in the next week or so.

I deal with a few fastener houses thru work. I'd rather deal with Kevin as I don't need to explain every detail. He's already informed on what I (we) need. OK... and maybe I'm a little bit lazy too...

OK due to many requests I have modified the spread sheet to sort by parts assembly groups. I added a code to each entry so the entire list can be sorted by the code. Example: Code 100 will be any nut or bolt related to the clutch assembly. Code 715 is any nut or bolt related to the Hood.

The new spread sheet is actually two sheets. Sheet one is the master list with the codes and is sorted by the code THEN by the description. This groups stuff quite nicely. Sheet two is for the restorer looking to ORDER bolts. This page is sorted by fastener diameter then fastener length. Each size has a total at the bottom of the sort.

I also added a CLASS column. This is the Toyota number usually stamped on the head. The higher the number the stronger the bolt. I will add the class to all bolts that have them eventually. So far only a few have it filled in.

This list is NOT complete in any way. If you see a fastener that should be in the list, but is not, and you are too :censor: lazy to go measure it yourself, then post up and I will measure it and add it to both spread sheets.

To get the sheet CLICK HERE then SAVE that to your drive.

Enjoy!

Coolerman, you are the MAN!!! Thanks for all the time and effort you've put into this.

Anyone have a source for M6-1.0 Retainer Weld Nuts for the transmission hump? The only place I've found them is at Fastenal ( M6 x 1.0 x 1/2"W x 1-1/2"L PlainFinish Steel RetainerWeldNut | Fastenal ). I ordered 20 ea but was told they have a 100ea minimum from the manufacturer. They're $1.36 each (100ea @ $136.00). If I have to buy the 100ea, would anyone be interested in buying any?
