Are there bushings on the linkage? Been a while.

Don't do that hose unless you need it.
Why put a Tcase saver on a street light duty rig?
Because you can add cheap insurance for half the cost of your new wiper blades...
It's a a simple steel brace that spans the area most prone to cracking in that all aluminum t-case housing. Easy to install at this point, inexpensive, and may save you (or someone else) some pain later.
