How are these different from what is available today?

Believe the ones SOR sells are copies made in China. Not sure if Toyota would even sell in the US if still available. I bought a set from CDan years ago. He got them out of a warehouse in So. CA that has parts for other markets. Things have changed and dealers are no longer allowed to get these parts. At that time the bracket were NLA and Owen's Exports was able to source some in Japan. But that was years ago.

The SOR Reproduction ones are very Cheap South east Asia Knock Offs-quality and VERY hard to get mounted correctly to there brackets

I had the mounting studs pulling out of the bottoms of the metal housings under only light pressure , had to use rubber garden hose to make a grommet of sorts to make up for the slop

There also Glued or Sealed shut together , so the Amber Bulbs are NOT replaceable , there essentially Sealed beams

Don't waist your ( SOR ) money on what appears to be a good deal on a hard to find part

OEM is the only way to go

OEM Lamps are still available from Toyota, but dont think brackets are available in the US. I’m pretty sure North American dealers can still get the lamps.

Agree OEM is the way to go. There was a member in Japan who was able to source replacement lamps. He has since moved back to the US and believe he is no longer on Mud. Just glad to have some replacement lamps.

Racer65 Sells the OEM amber replacement bulbs in both 12v & 24v

Need to find a member in the Middle East to locate the fog lights and brackets. Believe the two most common markets to get these fog lights were the Middle East and Japan.

are the lights for 24v or 12v FJ40s? How would I get 24v lights to work on my 12v FJ40? I know its probably a stupid question.... just consider who is asking. Thanks

I already had a couple of orders last week. Not much left.

Can you source the mounting bracket for the 40 series bumper?
I have been looking for it, and hoping to find some, since this lot of Fog Lamps suddenly surfaced. Will let you know for sure if I find some.

They are 12v as @RAGINGMATT mentioned.

If in your junkyard search you come across any FJ45 pickup chrome bumperettes I would definitely be interested.

Original fog lights brackets are still being sold by Toyota .. I already checked in Toyota UAE.
50 usd for each bracket as in 100 for the pair.

I have sourced some brackets from UAE couple of years back. I can still get them for USD $62.50 each plus shipping. Let me know if there is a group interest.

Fog lamps are still available from Toyota, however if someone is looking for a correct pair for an early restoration than they should jump on @EgyptOffroad offering simply because early lamps had bulb holder connected with a screw as oppose to twist & turn type in current offering from Toyota.

I order most of my Toyota OEM parts from amayama.com
They are official Toyota dealers in Japan, Australia and UAE. They ship everywhere in the world

Didn't realize they were the official supplier in those markets. I ordered from them only to wait well over a week for a response saying none of my parts were available at this time. Someone ordered and got one of the parts I wanted in Australia right after that. Price wasn't near as good but was available.

@Living in the Past
Like these but chrome?

No those are standard bumperettes. Not sure the chrome ones are still available here but the non chrome ones are for fairly cheap. The pickup truck bumperettes were different. I've only seen pictures of them and all those were chrome. I'll try and find a picture of them and the parts number. This are not as tall. Like the other bumperettes they come right and left.

the fogs were readily available some(10+) years ago in the US after I was able to find the part # and source them from Toyota USA. Then Toyota USA said no fogs(even if they were sitting in CA) Than last year(or maybe 2 years ago) I tried again and they showed up(I don't know why). I think the last price I paid was $80 each.....so the same as these are for sale for.

as with most Toyota lighting.....I don't think the bulbs will ever burn out......at least in my lifetime.
