Here are a couple pictures of the my first lift its not much but I am stoked. I wish I would have taken some good before pictures. It took me a couple days and I only ran into a couple problems along the way. One was One of my spring plates was damaged and it made it imposible to remove. I had to cut one of the ubolts off. Also on the same side I had trouble removing the spring pin. This had to be cut off also. I bought a new spring pin, plate and u bolt set from spector. on a side note the ubolts I recieved from spector did not fit though the holes in my stock spring plates. Sometimes it is kind of nice being able to sucsessfuly complete a project with out totally sucking. I did however have nightmares about being crushed to death.

Nice job. Great sense of accomplishment, huh?

What about the u-bolts didn't fit? Were the bolts too big for the stock plate holes or was it just a matter of a bend that was slightly off so they were a pain to get in once around the axle?

The new ubolts girth was to big to fit in the holes of the spring plate. It was a used 4 in skyjacker lift that my buddy gave me. In the end I ended up about three inches. Now not to soound like a total idiot but what do you guys mean by fliping the bezle.

Bezel = metal piece around your headlights. Should be fat side up.

Yep, all fun.

Good looking rig! :flipoff2:

It looks like the rear fenders have been cut? You might be able to flip the rear springs around and get a few more inches of wheelbase. The driveshaft might have to be a bit longer to make it work.

I dig your tire setup. What size are you running and where did you get those white-spokers. Would they have fit without the lift and rear fender cut-out?
:cheers::beer:

I bought the rims and tires off craigslist for 200 bucks off a fellow fj owner. 33x12.50 bfg mud terrains the rims are steel jackmans although I can't remeber the dimentions. They did fit before the lift but I am pretty sure I have extended shackels.

good job

Looks really good and you are not crushed to death! Bonus!:grinpimp::grinpimp:

The shot from the front is real nice--good stance

Spring lift wont matter at all. the bumpstops are in the same place, so any flex and you'd rub.

BFG 33's fit on a sagged height cruiser, but catch the lip of the rear guard, so trim it and all is well. 12.5's on standard cruiser offset also rub the inside of your wheel arch.

Nice looking rig.

Don't forget to go back and retorque all of the hardware after you have driven it a bit.
X2
I had to repair a broken spring center pin on the trail two weeks ago because my U-Bolts got loose.
It's one of those things you should do before EVERY trip.
