Newbie here on the Gulf Coast. Long time stalker but first post.
I have a 94 FJ80 I bought last summer. Triple Locked and in good
shape with 206K miles and 3" OME springs. It also came with the dreaded no start
ghost click. I've replaced the Battery and Starter with no luck.
I actually think its gotten worse since then. Ultimately it never
fails to start but does get unnerving when it does it in the middle
of nowhere. Totally random. Whats my next step, ignition switch?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if the 94 has a starter relay or not but maybe consider installing a starter relay if you think your ignition circuit getting tired

My 97 has done this for years. Clean the NSS, and try to keep the wheels straight. With straight wheels I can go months without issue. Naturally a good battery, check connections to starter and battery posts.
Others have used an aftermarket solenoid as mentioned above.

US spec 80s do not have a starter relay.

I had a problem with my 94 not starting. I would get a click but the starter would not turn. I added a painless performance hot shot kit. I have not had a problem since then.

next step is this,

and this

OK, keeping in mind I'm not much of a gear head; what are those and where do they go?
The first one looks like something I saw on the starter and the other looks like something
connecting to the battery.
thanks, Stob.

Its on your positive side of your battery.

Pure hunch...wheels = wires?

There is a verysimple solution that takes an hour and costs less than $20. After replacing starters and having it go from regular to intermittent i simply put a 30 amp intermittent type horn button onto the side if my interior console and ran 14 guage wire to and from the starter solenoid. It is the same thing as using a screwdriver or jump wire to engage the starter. I could have used a relay but never bothered to. Now i havw 100 percent reliability. It wont start without kwy turned on...however it will start in gear which could be a problem but i am aware and always use Park. I did this 3 years ago and wound up doing the same to my Tacoma

I'm with Jon, please explain why keeping the wheels straight effects the starting.
Observation over time.
If wheels are straight it will always start, if wheels are cocked as when turning then you might have to turn the key a few times.
Do what you may with the observation.
I see to many people changing starters only to have another issue.
If it really bothered me I would have found a solution but so far she's never left me stranded.

Fusible link acquired from WitsEnd and installed today. So far so good.
Time will tell.

Glad to hear seems like you got it taken care of 🤞🏼
I had similar problem 5+ years ago. Went through all of it, battery cables, starter, fusibles... Turned out to be worn out ignition switch, just like you suspected first post.
