I agree with one small exception. I prefer Toyo RT’s or MT’s.

I was just looking at the Toyo MT and it seems it may be available in 33x9.5x15, im just afraid of road noise and fast wear
I’ve got MT’s on my 79 Series and noise doesn’t seem to be an issue and they appear to be holding up well.
(In the interest of full disclosure, I’ve only put 5,000-6,000 miles on them).

I ordered from Toyota Parts Deal because it said they had it in stock but they emailed me a couple days later saying they didn't, partsouq and amayama don't appear to have it in stock.

Best option when you are unable to find something is to contact Dave Stedman @ Japan4x4 and see if he can find it for you.

Dave won't be able to get that specific part. I tried already awhile back and he said NLA in Japan. Then I finally found one here in the US with the help of a "parts professional" and got it. A couple of people that I gave the part number to tried to get it also and were not able to so perhaps I got the last one left...not sure.
I went thru the same deal... it's no longer in production it seems. if you are able to find them buy them all, I will give you top dollar for one

Well that solves that then… Thanks for the quick replies. Does anybody have a recommended durable plastic paint to match the light grey interior in that case?
Also out of curiosity does anybody know why this one specific part yellowed so much? Almost seems like a manufacturing issue of some kind as every 77 I have seen has this part totally yellowed.

I don't know why the original ones turn yellow but the new one I got was not yellow at all. A very light grey color.
I painted my original one with what I thought would be a light grey paint for interior plastics. Followed all the steps to clean the plastic part, apply primer and then painted it. Came out too dark for my taste so that is when I went on the hunt for a new part and got it.

I hate to break your heart so early, but Amayama saying "Qty 1" does not mean they actually have it. Matter of fact, it rarely does.
Amayama has multiple steps for every order. Checking, ordering, waiting, arrived in warehouse, shipped, delivered.
About half the parts I order from Amayama come back with issues.
The only warehouse with consistent live inventory that I have found is PartSouq. Great spot.

Your post in SleepyDad69’s build thread is actually where I got all this info so thanks. Honestly even the dark paint looks much better than the mustard yellow in my opinion…

I have ordered from Amayama many times in the past too. Of the 1,300$ of parts I ordered they approved everything already in stock, only part that was out of stock was the front hood bumpers so I got those from partsouq.
Only reason I go with Amayama is I have found them to be slightly cheaper but I always compare both Partsouq and Amayama with identical parts to see the final cost. Sometimes I go with partsouq too. I have rarely ever had parts out of stock with Amayama hopefully that trend continues!
My bad.......Honestly I would just go to the Toyota dealership and get a live inventory search result.
First I went to a local dealer and they looked it up and said there was a dealer in Louisiana that had one (don't remember the name now, sorry) but they would not ship to me when I called them.
Went another route and got one shipped from a dealer out of NY.
