New toys came while I was on my hunt. Will install next weekend

This weekend I had some free time since it was too hit to sit in a deer stand. Sat AM I scraped off the old purple tint & had 7% installed along with 25% on the front windows.

Sunday, with the help if Duggy, I installed the 12,500# tough stuff winch that's been lying around for a while.

Can't wait to use it!

A little manual labor:

Get a good razor blade holder & a box of quality blades. I picked up a 100 count box and damn near used every one if them. Like 7 left.

After scraping the tint film, you'll need to scrape the glue off - I used a 3" scraper blade for that & about 30 blades.

Afterwards I hit them with some solvent to remove any left over residue.

On the back window I used a heat gun & clothes steamer. Worked like a champ - peep out youtube for a how-to.

Good luck! took me ab 3 hours total.

Oh, it was sunny & ab 97 degrees when I did it - some film peeked right off bc the adhesive was damn near melted.

I Removed tint a few months ago. I use the handheld steamer and a razor blade. It took some time but came off pretty easily. Rear window was the most difficult, but with some patience I was able to get it off without damaging the defroster

Guess I need to update this thread with the HG ordeal. Yes, I believe my HG is toast as of about 4 weeks ago. I'm currently accumulating rebuild parts for the cooling system, motor in general & a few more goodies.

Since I've been slammed with work & school, I hope to have some time over Thanksgiving to get the head torn down a bit & have a local shop magma flux the head to determine if it is worth rebuilding.

Hopefully the answer is affirmative and we can move forward.

Stage update:

Stage 1: lift, monstaliner, bullbar, winch, tint, 33's, brakes, PM - COMPLETE

Stage 2: roof rack, RTT, awning, fridge & rear drawers system

Stage 3: rear bumper, sliders,on board air & water (flexi tank)

Well, I finally had the time to pull the motor and assess the failure & damage. Def a blown HG @ cylinder number 4.

Not a big deal since we didn't drive but a couple hundred yards afterwards - all cylinder walls look good.

Biggest issue? PO installed a block from a 62 series. I really don't know what this means yet, some of the parts I purchased will have to be exchanged.

The B34ST has now been renamed:

Frankenstein.

Head off & being broken down for refresh.

While the engine is at the machine shop, I've had the weekend to sand & grind the rust off of the exhaust manifolds & heat shields.

Today I start on the valve cover.

This thing should look great & run even better when she's all back together! I'm beside myself with excitement.

Engines back in & first road test was a success. Was a little nervous at first, but it's all good.

Great news from a fellow 3FE owner. Glad that you're back in action. I'm debating whether to pull the head on mine or not. Don't have a HG issue, but head seems to need a rebuild
