Took the 80 up to a buddy's game ranch. Had a great time & got to use the on-board water.

Awesome build! I couldn't find any place where you mentioned what type of ladder that was on your rear hatch? It seems wider/sturdier than the Gobi. Did you fab it up yourself?

Any progress on a roof rack?

The ladder is actually aluminum, and though it was cheap it is sturdy. Pretty good quality & light weight. I purchased it on ebay from a Chinese seller. It was silver & I painted it matte black.

I'm still sourcing parts for the rack, once I've dabbed the adjustable mounts I will have a local aluminum shop weld everything to spec. Have 10 tabs for LEDs front, back & both sides.

Still working on a fairing that sits behind the front light bar. Also working on mounts for awning, tools & a platform for hunting.

Hoping to knock it all out the week between Christmas & New Years.

Thank you for the props on my "build" by the way. Quite a proud feeling!

Here's the ladder & the speaker mounts:

Here's the shocks I got, purchased mine gently used off a fellow 'mudder.

Will be installing them next weekend.

Update:

Decided to start working on small tidbits at night throughout the next week - getting ready to have the rack welded up over the Christmas break & hopefully wire all the lights, switches & aux outlets.

May even finish the winch re-wire & dual batt.

Tonight I assembled the SmittyBilt HD6 gutter clamps.

My version of the j-moose rack is well on its way. Using Smittybilt HD gutter mounts x6 and stainless Grade-8 hardware I was able to get the test fit knocked out.

How I made mine:

- 5/16 hardware throughout.
- 12 bolts down the center channel to bring both halves together.
- 2x bolts at each mount.

Headed to the welder on Monday or Tuesday to drop off the rack & have the LED light mounts welded into it.

Pics BC it's Mud and if you don't have pics it didn't happen:

Laying out wiring so the install is plug & play.

12ga shrouded wire for the front 24" bar
Sides each get 16ga - will be shrouded as well
Rear also gets 16

Blue wire is 14ga for lead from rocker to relay

Buss man relay bank & dirty parts switch bank in pic.

Late night fun!

Very nice, I know its like three pages back, but is your snorkel a TMS? Thats the brand I bought, and like you I don't go cheap however I don't see myself fording rivers…

I can't recall the brand, honestly since it's just for looks I purchased the eBay $149 Chinese knock off. IMO it's just a cold air intake, don't see myself crossing the Amazon any time soon.

Finished painting & mounting my CMoose rack. Looks almost like I envisioned, and seems sturdy. I need to add a fairing & some anchors because I plan on hauling hunting gear in 2 Hardigg med chests strapped up there. Kingsville is a long way from Houston So it's got to be sturdy.

More comprehensive pic.

Btw: use a c-clamp to match up the rack to the gutter mounts. It saves a lot of hassle.
